Anyone have a moment to look over the specs of this 1.17ct that I previously posted? Please let me know. I''m set to purchase in the morning

Thanks!

Welcome Writebrain, I ran your numbers through the HCA and it came up as a 2.8 on the cut advisor. A very good if the price is right. I also checked online for stones close to 1.17 carats. There is about 25 stones between 1.15-1.20, about a dozen under six thousand that have a lower HCA score and most likely a better buy. The diamond you posted is a good, but you can find better for the price. I personally would never buy a diamond over 41 degrees on the pavilion, but that is my personal opinion. I also would go down in clarity to an SI-1 and up in color to an G. The difference in a VS-1 and SI-1 is zero once you pull away the diamond loupe!

I hope this helps.

It's not necessarily true that the difference between a VS 1 and an SI 1 is zero, once you pull away the loupe. Sometimes it is, at least from the top; in other circumstances it isn't. A 1ct+ stone with an SI 1 clarity grade needs to be personally inspected to make sure that the inclusions are either light & scattered or prongable. A single crystal in the middle of the table that warrants an SI 1 grade may very well be eye-visible. It's a stone by stone case. Be sure to ask for magnified pictures as well as visual observation by the vendor to make sure you're buying a clean looking SI 1.

I agree, I looked at that diamond, side by side with three other Si stones. They all had notable inclusions right in the center. I've seen alot on Goodoldgold's site that are more scattered or off to the side/pavilion, which would obviously be more desirable.

Question: would the specs I provided make that a "Tripple zero" or Ideal cut by AGS standards? or because the table is 57.9%, is it no longer considered "ideal"??? I know it's semantics, but I just want to know.
