Need to sell Irish Diamond

Hi, I have a 1 carat, round brilliant cut, VS1, F color diamond in platinum setting with two side diamonds that I bought in Ireland at the famous Appleby fine jewelry store in Dublin. It is also GIA certified and I have all the paperwork. I would love to sell it, but have no idea how to go about it. If someone could point me in the right direction. I live in NYC, so I have many options. Thanks!!

I have heard of people using ebay to sell their diamonds... I'm not sure about the ease and/or safety of this method (does anyone here know more about this?) -you may want to take a look over there.
