NEED TO PURCHASE BY END OF DAY!

Have you asked B2C if that stone is eye-clean?

Yes, it's an SI1

I was under the impression that the definition of si1 was that inclusions were not visible to the naked eye?

There are some eye clean SI1 and some not eye clean SI1. You can be assured that VS will be clean but it isn't a shoo-in for SI.

The 1.12ct has twinning wisps which are a "good" bet to be eye-clean but could affect brilliance. But also "Additional twinning wisps, additional clouds, pinpoints, internal graining and surface graining are not shown" and strong blue fluor, plus a low price. So there's a lot of potential for those various things to make a hazy diamond. You'd need to ask someone just how eyeclean.

This is the response I got:

Stock # 6200160 on the other hand has been confirmed as eye-clean and has a beautiful white face-up. Due to the strong fluorescence, the diamond look faint bluish however, does not affect the brilliance of the stone. I have attached all images of this diamond here for your reference.

The good thing about a modern round brilliant is that they hide inclusions well.

You should check out James Allen...they have so many stones XXX in your price range and videos on all their stones.
I just look at what is visible under the table...you might find an SI2 that could be eye clean as well.

Be sure to put them through the HCA tool and then they will provide you with ASETs on 3 stones.

Why do you have to purchase by the end of the day?

You should not rush an investment like this. I've heard that all over light sprinkling of pin point inclusions is better than the big black ones and if cut well can be very nice stones. And of course the inclusions that show up white sometimes won't affect the appearance of the stone.

Sorry I'm not knowledgeable about crown angles etc but others are on PS. I just look for the smaller tables which makes an higher crown:

This I VVS2 with strong blue fl. would be really nice. Strong blue Fl. will make the diamond appear more white and in certain lighting give the stone a blue hue which is lovely adding personality to the stone. Also on budget. You can google "show me your strong blue fl. and see the effect in pictures.

After realizing the canadian dollar is at a 6 year low. I've decided to maybe wait on the purchase. Thanks to everyone for the input

I feel ya. Bought USD yesterday and needed GRAVOL. :o :knockout:

What are your options buying locally?

cheers--Sharon

I'm glad you didn't buy that first one. No way is that eye clean. If they said it was, I wouldn't buy anything from them ever.

The more you learn the better educated you will be when you buy your stone. Learn about the HCA tool and use it to test certain stones and also learn about the angles...which I have never done since i don't plan on ever buying a MRB diamond.

All the best!

I'm located in Sudbury Ontario. Not many good options other than online.

Would you consider Estate? I am across the country (Calgary) but have been looking at Estate shops/vendors in TO. Some really nice pieces!

cheers--Sharon

Hello all,

Saw this and pursued it… I believe our team verified that the second diamond was eye-clean (Stock #6200160 - the 1.12 H SI1). Not the first diamond (1.03 G SI1).

I wouldn't give our crappy dollar the power to give up. You might have to be creative & alter your preferences, but it can be done. If I recall correctly from a couple of earlier inquiries you were looking for a larger 1.25+ stone. I had recommended some I coloured ones then which I have no idea if you looked at or not. After a bit of time here, I think you realized what you want, & what your budget could allow, were not in synch. If our dollar was bad 2-3 weeks ago, it's now worse.

I would take a look at what Whiteflash has to offer. They have a generous upgrade policy in which you do not have to spend double the amount you paid AND they have the stones in house. They do not offer this on the virtual stones. However, their stones are a bit higher, not too badly though, priced but this is still great if you know you want to upgrade without the stress of knowing you have to spend 2x the amount to do so. Buy a smaller stone, a bit lower in colour, & know that you can, once the dollar gains some strength, upgrade at any time. If you should come to the U.S on vacation, send the stone in, upgrade, maybe this can be done all while you are still in the U.S to save on shipping. Buy a simple setting, maybe a preowned one in great shape, bezel or halo the stone to up the diameter a bit. Check out Loupetroop, Diamondbistro, Ebay or perhaps any of the estate places Sharon has contacted.

Here is a Whiteflash stone. They have others, modify your search to .90-.99 & see what comes up. There are some smaller G's also in this price range.

Brian Gavin Diamonds also has a good upgrade policy, similar to Whiteflash. Here is one I found there, an H but more expensive & a bit smaller than the I.

I'm definitely a proponent of not paying for what you can't see & having your money go further. If it were me, I would just call I.D Jewelry in NY. They have found some great stones for some tight budgets & are very competitive with pricing. I'd feel confident if they were to tell me an SI-1 or SI-2 stone was eye clean. They too have an upgrade policy but I'm not familiar with it to tell you what it is.

If you want to try a Canadian, contact Adam at Bill Le Boeuf Jewellers in Barrie, Ontario. He has estate pieces. Plus, whatever the U.S folks see on the virtual list, Adam can too. He can give you details of what the cost is. I still think it's easier to shop through the U.S.

Good luck...
