well, i graduate in may, and dont work till then.

so i would like to pay with thoes cheesy credit card checks that have 0ARP for a year so i can then pay for it when i get my signing bonus in June.

i assume since i already filled out the order the ring is on hold, because they told me its not going to ship until they get the check and it clears....
Congratulations!

I hope everything works out with the purchase! It is just perfect for you based on what you have requested.

Now .. have you considered making that credit card check payable to yourself, chequing account, for example, and then you can maybe pay via bankwire or certified cheque etc from your chequing account. This way the funds are guaranteed to Signed Pieces and they may even give you a further discount for this "cash" purchase?

ill call them in the AM and see if that is an option, it makes sense to me.

i just dont want someone else to get it in the meantime....

ill post some pics when i get it. the ones online were a bit pixilated up close.

i hope the box isnt all banged up!

wow!
i just saw that the cert from tiffany''s was just done in july of 2007!!

its hardly used!!

i bet there is a story behind this one!!!

Okay. Good stuff!!
If you've voiced your desire to purchase this ring, hopefully, they've gotten your request. Call them first thing in the morning!

Make sure to ask them about the box and I can't wait to see the pics!

** eta ** Congrats on your upcoming graduation! With regards to the story behind that ring ... I don't want to know!

ok i just called them, it is on hold awaiting payment!

no discount for wire transfer, and they tell me everything looks mint.

ill let you know when its here!!

i am wondering...i just read the tiffany cert and it states that the stone was remounted from a necklace under repair order #######.(it states the number)

is this sketchy?

I don''t think anyone mentioned it, but to get it resized, bring it to Tiffany. Always bring a Tiffany ring back to Tiffany for any repairs. BTW, here is a link to a great thread on this site that tells you what you should do after you purchase a Tiffany ring from Signed Pieces. Congratulations! I''ve been checking there daily to find MY perfect ring!

Excellent. I''m happy for you ... I have to say this was a lot easier than most people!

Not sure if it is sketchy or not ... If you are still uncertain, check with Signed Pieces ... either way, they should be able to advise you.

Thanks for the update ... glad you were able to hold it!

Congratulations! I''ve been wondering why that ring wasn''t snatched up sooner - I don''t think you''ll find a better deal on the Real Thing! Can''t wait to see pics!

Hello All!
Thanks for all the help and kind words.
I emailed tiffany''s asking about transfering the paperwork to my name as well as verifying that the ring is in fact a real Tiffanys ring. Tiffany''s called me from a New Jersey phone number telling me that I would need written authorization from the original purchaser to make that happen, and that they would not release any information about the ring without it. They did however tell me that the document number itself is a valid number.

I then called up signed pieces and spoke to Soloman there. He was very helpful and reassuring. He told me that all I have to do is send the ring itself and all paperwork to Tiffany''s in New York. For a 200$ fee they will verify that the ring is authentic and also change the ownership in thier records to my name. I was told this is simple and would take about 2 weeks.

I also found out something else very interesting...

I asked Soloman whose name is the paperwork under, and he told me that it is the "president" (or somethign to that effect i dont remember the exact word) of Signed Pieces. Soloman also told me the history. He said the diamond was originally part of a pendant. Signed Pieces thought that such a large stone was a waste in a pendant, and they decided to have it put in a ring for resale purposes. He also told me that as a result, that the ring is brand new, and not worn prior.

What I ask all of you is to tell me...does this seem possible?? I thought it was quite established that Tiffany''s does NOT play the game of you bring a stone, they make you a ring. Maybe the pendant was a Tiffany''s pendant and they would do such a thing then???? It seems a bit odd....but nevertheless, I will go through it and have it all verified as legit by Tiffany''s NYC.

Opinions? Comments??

Of course it was a Tiffany pendant before.
Everything seems fine to me. There are more people are in the market for engagement rings than there are people buying significant diamond jewelry. It's much easier to sell as a ring.

Excellent find!! I think your GF will be thrilled!

HI:

Yet it begs the question where the setting came from, since Tiffany doesn''t sell them alone.

cheers--Sharon

Congratulations on your upcoming engagement!! I am sure she will FLIP for the outstandingly beautiful piece you selected for her!!

I think diamondfan had tiffany''s reset one of her tiffany items into something else, but could be wrong. but i can see tiffany being willing to do it for signedpieces. sometimes i wonder if tiffany themselves sells the traded in rings though signedpices. hard to say, but if you verified the # through tiffanys and they will redocument everything for you, i think you''re fine.

Congratulations-looks great!

I am sure that the ring will come to you absolutely perfect and your GF will be thrilled!

Well, it sounds like you are getting a new Tiffany ring for the price of a used one! Assuming that is a genuine Tiffany setting, I''d say you are getting a great deal!

i told my buddy that I bought a 1crt tiffany''s ring. his jaw dropped with shock!!

he told me im such a moron for wasting money. he knows a guy who knows a guy who works with someone who sells rings out of her living room who would have sold it to me for wholesale
