I am considering this stone as an engagement ring:
http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-62567.htm#

. Report: AGS 0 (Note that the AGS report is in Jan 2005, and thus according to pricescope tutorial this stone may not be AGS 0 under latest system ...)
. Shape: Round Ideal Cut
. Carat: 1.660
. Depth %: 60
. Table %: 57
. Crown Angle: 34.1
. Crown %: 14.6
. Pavilion Angle: 40.6
. Pavilion %: 42.7
. Girdle: Thin-Slightly Thick-Faceted
. Measurements: 7.71-7.75X4.64
. Polish: Excellent
. Symmetry: Excellent
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

From the magnified pics there are at least two big clouds but I have already told Whiteflash my eye clean definition (8-10 inches away from the stone) and was informed that this stone is eye clean.

I was given another suggestion:

(1.54 E SI1 AGS0)
Oddly enough I was told that some staff considered this eye clean and some do not, despite the magnified pics show no obvious scratches. Afterall they are the pros and I am not.

Despite the older AGS cert and lower clarity, I prefer the 1st ''D'' stone because my girl friend wants a diamond that is "as white as possible". I am sure I can''t tell the color difference between D and E, but I would love to tell her that "I have got you the whitest diamond possible --- I can''t get you anything whiter".

These two stones hit perfectly at my $15K budget -- with the setting and 13% tax (I am from Canada).

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Have someone at WF, Brian if he is available talk with you about the 2 stones while looking at them.

Yes, Tracy at WF had been providing me excellent service.
She told me that the ''D'' stone is eye-clean and the ''E'' stone has split opinions among the WF staff.

They are honest, aren''t they?

I would rather have the one that everyone considers eyeclean personally. What if you get the other one, think it''s eyeclean to you, and your FI splits the opinion with you? That would not be fun.
