The first one seems to have a really visible crystal or something right on the table in the video. Am I seeing that right?

Of the other three, number 3 is really tempting. I really like the size, but what do you think about the I color? It looks fine in the video, but how will it look in a real-life view?

It's a cool party trick. All of theirs have been vetted to not impact performance

Haha! Yes, I'd be open to those.

I'd like to see that 1.51 glow...

They are really responsive if you shoot them an email, OP!

Okay, been looking and have had my wife looking. Still keep going back to the 1.51ct stone posted earlier in the thread. The I color is our only concern. Measurements look good. Someone look at it and tell me if you can find similar or better. Or talk me out of that one. Why should we hold off?

Unset you will be able to see the tint-- it will be noticeable. When set it should look like a white diamond.

Will you have it set now? The good thing about BN is the 29 day return policy (the item has to be back with them on day 30).

The best thing to do IMO is order it and see how you like it in person.

Others had mentioned that JA and WF have better upgrade policies, etc. Is there a downside to BN?

to upgrade at BN you need to spend twice what you paid. JA is the same actually. With WF you can trade in your diamond for one of equal or higher value. It just has to be one of their in-house diamonds (not virtual selection).

(and not sure if I've already said this in this thread, but make sure you go through ebates.com if you order from BN - you can get 1% cash back - not affiliated)

Oh, good to know! Thank you!

Check out @HappyNewLife's experience with an I colored stone from whiteflash. She was concerned about color (which in larger stones can be more concentrated). She was blown away and her concerns were eliminated

Pulled the trigger on the 1.51 on a bank wire. Did it through Ebates (thank you Happy New Life!). Wanted to get it in in time to have the extended holiday return period. We will take it to Ascot and make them try to beat it. Will get to see how it actually looks color-wise in a setting, too. Had a hard time finding anything in this size, clarity, and with the same or better HCA score in our budget.

I'll keep you all posted!

Sorry I Disappeared-- had a sudden death in the family and traveling now.

I can't wait to see this diamond...

Forgot where I posted the question earlier, but is there any way to get an ASET or other image on the diamond's performance from Blue Nile?

Also, my condolences, Whitewave. Sorry to hear that and wish you the best.

Thanks. You can buy an ASET and do it yourself.

Thanks, Whitewave. I didn't realize you could buy the scopes. That's pretty cool.

As an aside, we're now trying to figure out what to do for a setting. Something I have seen and really liked before, but can't seem to find now is the Mark Morrell "Petite Torchiere". It looks like GOG used to sell this setting, but it isn't listed on their site now. Does anyone know where it could be found now?

Well, got the 1.51 in yesterday and I think it looks pretty good. Wife was worried about the color, as was I, but pretty sure it's not having any negative impact. It's hard to tell because you're not sure if you see something because you're looking for it or aware of it more than before.

Had a local high-end jeweler look at it yesterday to verify serial number and she didn't think there was any noticeable color.

So here's a short video I shot on the in-laws' front porch. Overcast day, fyi. What do you think?

It's so sparkly and beautiful!! At the very end of a full tilt I feel like I can see a very slight tint, but I am
Looking for it because you asked. I would say your diamond is colorless.

Like the jeweler said, it's not noticeable.

At PS, most people here consider tint to be simply another beautiful choice-- not something to be regarded as negative. Plenty of people here LOVE and prefer a J/K/L color stone.

I have to give you a lot of kudos for finding that one. I have continued to look and look and look and have yet to find a better stone at the price. Looking at that inclusion plot, it literally has three pinpoints toward the outer edge on the pavilion; nothing at all up top. I haven't seen many other stones, even in the same VVS1 category, with such insignificant and well-placed inclusions. And for it to be 1.51, GIA certified at $9,700 (bank wire price)..........just a DARN GOOD FIND.:clap::clap:

I just checked JA, and the closest stone was a 1.44 and was an IGI cert. And it was one of only two between 1.38 and 1.55. The other was smaller, also IGI. The I color seems to be colorless to me, too. Looking with the naked eye, I just don't see it. And again, it's been cloudy out all day. What you see in that video is under a covered porch with a full-on winter sky overhead. I'm going to try and get some better pics/vids in actual daylight once we get it set.

Again, thank you WHITEWAVE! Can't say that enough!:wavey:
