I am helping my cousin out and need some input from you guys. He found this GIA .90ct that I am not to sure about, but the price is right. He has a $3800 max budget and needs a stone that can look 1ct. It scored at 2.9 on the Halloway Cut Adviser. It has a large table which helps make it look bigger but gives it a low crown height of 12.5%. The setting has two .30ct pointers on the side in G-H color so he is afraid if he goes down to .80 it will look to small next to the side stones which i disagree. I feel a better quality .80ct is a better choice and around the same price point with similar color and clarity to this one. Do you think it is worth buying for this price? I'm afraid it will be flat in not ideal lighting and lose fire due to the table. Here are the stats below any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Is it eye clean? Can he get a picture and Ideal Scope? the price is not bad if it checks out.

I am not sure the jewelry shop he is using supplies a Ideal scope most likely no. That is why with just the GIA Cert I can't really know. From what I have read and learned this stone makes me nervous. It is eye clean

I found this GIA .80 G S11. It is the same price and better quality I think. It is smaller but don't you think the numbers look better to be a nice performer. It is also eye clean. What do you think of this against the .90ct above??

Hi Nic,

The first diamond has potential if as Jules says the price is right, the GOG stone looks excellent and it has super numbers too, very nice choice.

Thank you guys for the input his total Max is $3800. If you had to choice between the two without ideal scope for .90 what would you do?

If those are the choices, I would opt for the stone from GOG.

First, though, I would have GOG make me a video of that stone, with some other options, to do a side-by-side comparison.

Here is an example of a stone that might be worth comparing:

With the video, you can let your eyes make the decision!
