Hi All!

I've been a long time lurker and just wanted to thank everyone in advance cause I've learned so much from researching this forum.

I finally joined the forum because it is about that time for me to take the next step. Being such an indecisive person and inexperienced with diamonds, I like to ask everyone on their opinion on this exact ring. Below are the specs on the stones and setting is by platinum D Vatche with half eternity set. My girlfriend is tiny and is a size 4, would this ring be too small for her? Any negative/honest opinion would be much appreciated!

1.51ct F VS2 Princess Cut Diamond
Shape: Princess
Carat Weight: 1.51ct
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good

Culet: None

Can you at least post the GIA report/report #? Need more info on the diamond itself.

Cut is key so do you have the certificate and the rest of he specs on the stone. Also just a question is this a total surprise meaning is she obsessed with princess cuts. I am just asking as they do face up smaller than other cuts. Size doesn't matter I wear size 5 ring and carry a 3.66 emerald on 1 " platinum band so size Does and doesn't matter :errrr:

Very pretty nice stone. Me too 5'2 107

Sorry, here it is. She has yet to see the set so it is a surprise but we have discussed before and princess is her fav! That helps, i thought ring finger would be a variable. She is a small build at 5ft 3inches and 110lb. I would like to get her some thing sizable but money is a factor.. This entire set would cost under $14k.

It's not very square for a princess is it?

Let's see what we can find you.

I love the setting you chose.

Wow you're good! My jeweler said that this specific stone is a bit longer than usual princess cuts

The setting is what i can't make up my mind on. Thanks for the input.

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2998693.htm Larger stone with verified light performance. at 6.5 square this one is a great deal (but will put you over budget 600 or so bucks). $12.636
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3052166.htm Same size with verified light performance: $11, 352

The stones above have ideal light performance. They will be larger looking and brighter than any other princess out there. They are the cream of the crop. Which is what I advise you to get.

(you won't see any difference between G and F color, might as well save money and go for the G. They do have F's too though. I just picked the G's because they are better values overall).

Vatche setting:

Thank you so much. Now I'll have to take these stones into considerations too.

:cheeky:

You are spending the money either way. Might as well make sure you get the best value for your funds. That's what I am here to do.

Whatever you decide the ring is going to be stunning. And she will love it (she did ask for a princess right?)

Yup, princess for sure or square for that matter lol.

As long as she didn't ask for a cushion you are great then. :wavey:
