i would appreciate some advises a this stone on ebay:
ideal cut- round brilliant diamond
2.11 carat
H
VVS-1
cut grade: AGS ideal 0
polish, symmetry and propotions: all ideal
table: 55%
depth: 62%
crown: 15.7%
pavillion: 43.1%
girdle: 0.7% - 1.5%
culet: pointed
crown angle: 35.1 degree
pavilion angle: 40.9 degree
$15g

is it a good deal? or too good to be true?
the seller has nothing but good reviews.
the problems are:
1. 3 day 100% return policy from the receipt. (just barely leave enough time to take it to an independent appraiser)
2. how can i ensure i will get my money back if i need to return this thing?

I also would like to ask for using an escrew service and 10 days return policy. is it reasonable?

thank very much, cheers,

Hi,

I repeated this in another thread.

Ebay, does not take any responsability for any cases
of fraud.

A 3 day return policy does not give you any security.

10 days seems far more reasonable.

If the price seems to good to be true, beware!

Insist, In this case to have it checked by an independent appraiser prior to purchase.

Definitely use an escrow service!!! It's waaay too much money to take a chance.

Ask seller if the dia has either strong blue fluorescence (which may be just fine in H) or very strong blue fluorescence (which may not be acceptable). You need to see it before forking over that much. I've bought mostly china over Ebay; there are some scammers out there!

Beware,

:wavey: My opinion is that you have to shop around and see
if you are getting a good deal ,by comparing internet sites.
you are talking about a considerable amount of money!
after you have "Shop and Compare" Then make your descision.

fluorescence is faint in the AGS report.

went to bluenile and whiteflash. seems like the price is about 15-20% lower then a comparable stone on their site. also 20% lower than the Rap Sheet. checked the HCA and looks OK.

If I gotta the rock and bring it to an independent appraiser. I see only one appraiser listed in the pricescope for NYC: David Wolf. Anyone else reputable I can go to in NYC? How long would be the appraisal? A couple of hours or days?

thanks very much, guys....
