Originally i was going to get a reversible marabou/ostrich feather wrap to go with my dress located here:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-finally-bought-my-dress.75930/
The original wrap is located here:
http://www.featherplace.com/ic/fp/item/G16REV/Ostrich-and-Marabou-Reversible-Shawls.html

It is a daytime to evening wedding and seemed like a lot more dramatic then I wanted.
I really like the idea of this one instead:
http://www.tjformal.com/Products/292/6501/Gloves,-Shawls-Wraps/Mon-Cheri-Fur-Bolero-Jacket-Marilyn-Fur-25204

Does that seem better? Are there any better ones like that elsewhere? My dress will be white silk tafetta, strapless.

Now comes the issue of my b-maids.
They will be wearing this dress:
http://www.siriinc.com/br-9449.html in watermelon with a magenta sash in shantung silk.

One of my bridesmaid would like to check out this shawl:
http://www.besweetproducts.com/product_type.php?cat=14&prod=118&mode=proddetail&width=1920&height=1200
We''d have to pick a color that would compliment their dresses.
Here''s the color chart:
http://www.besweetproducts.com/color_chart.php?img_id=118

She was thiking a magenta-ish color. Since they''ve already decided to get dyed magenta shoes, it seems a bit much color-wise and dramawise to me. Aslo its a knit shawl. My other idea would be to find outher faux fur wraps for them but they all seem to come only in white, black and ivory and not too cute.

What do you think would work better? Keep looking for new shrugs or maybe go with these. Do you think the knitted look may class with the stylishness of the dresse and the wedding? I mean the shawls are very nice but high in drama, looks-wise.

I really like that shawl for the bridesmaids, but I agree that a magenta sash with magenta shoes and a magenta shawl might be a bit overkill. Do you have any other colors involved in your wedding other than the watermelon and magenta? Could they wear a neutral? Or, at the risk of too dramatic a look, you could go with a contrasting color to really make the pinks/purples pop, like a light green that might tie in with the greenery of their flowers.

color wise, I agree it might be too much magenta but how can you bring in another shade easily? I also agree a knitted look is not my favorite with shantung etc. I would prefer a cashmere look with it. What about something in the green with maybe a metallic gold thread sublty running through it, then you could maybe do a gold sandal instead? I think a magenta shoe is going to drag your eyes downward.

I love the fur bolero you posted.. It''s great!

I''m not a fan of the shawl your bridesmaid picked out.. It seems too casual for the dress. Oh and the bridesmaids dresses are fantastic by the way!

I like the fur bolero more than the shawl/wrap, but I am biased as I wore a faux fur bolero for our wedding. It''s really sweet.

I think the magenta shawl would be a little too much for your bm. Can you do some more neutral or muted?

Okay so I think we're going faux fur boleros or wraps... Now for my next question!

I kind of like the idea of them wearing this style (maybe):
http://www.tjformal.com/Products/292/347/Gloves,-Shawls-Wraps/Jessica-McClintock-Faux-Fur-Wrap-29022
It only comes in ivory though... (does ivory work?)

One of them really likes this one:
http://www.silkandsable.com/Fur-Capelet_p_33-55.htmlhttp://www.silkandsable.com/Faux-Fur-Stoles-Capelets_c_33.html
She suggested either keeping the ribbon or pulling it off and doing a brooch since you can do that with this one.

Which one is cuter? Also, if option 2 is the best, what color should they go with given the color scheme of the dresses? And finally does anyone know of a bolero/shrug that may go BETTER than the above two options? I wish I could find a complimentary bolero to the one I like:
http://www.tjformal.com/Products/292/6501/Gloves,-Shawls-Wraps/Mon-Cheri-Fur-Bolero-Jacket-Marilyn-Fur-25204
The reason is because a wrap may take away from how lovely the neckline of their dresses are, which is now making me re-think my first link because it sweeps across the chest and really covers things up...

That''s an interesting point about the shoes btw. I wanted them to wear silver shoes because I''m wearing silver shoes. I figured something strappy would look nice but they are having trouble with the strappy shoes (one of my bm''s has feet that need more support). So my other bridesmaid suggested the d''orsay in a magenta, mine''s a silver d''orsay.

I''ll have to think on the shoe thing a bit more now. We thought it woud be cute though.. HRMM....

What''s wrong with the eyes being drawn to cute shoes? I mean, I don''t think it''s going to get the the level where people are staring at the BMs feet all through the ceremony. If the magenta shoes tie in with the overall color scheme of the dress I don''t think they''d be that distracting. Now, if you had the BMs in black dresses with bright red or neon green shoes I could see how they would stand out. But shoes that match the magenta sash on the dress wouldn''t stand out in my opinion, they would just look like part of a well put together ensemble. HOWEVER, overall I don''t think you should stress yourself out about the color of BM shoes. It''s such as small consideration in your whole wedding and not many guests are going to thing twice about the BMs shoes.

As for the BMs wraps, I *really like* the neckline on your BM dresses and I think it would be a shame to cover them up. Could you just have the BMs wear nice pashmina wraps? I was a BM in a wedding where the bride gave us pashminas to wear- we tied them in the back and had them draped over our shoulders. I''ll attach a photo (with whited out eyes to protect the innocent!) I know these aren''t the same fuzzy texture you seem to be going for with the faux fur/feather wraps you posted so this look may not work for you. But just wanted to throw it out there anyway!

Oh, those faux fur things always look so.... FAUX! Like fire-hazardy. I would get something real and vintage if I were you. That way, no animal-death guilt. No environmental-guilt. And it's classy. Just my 2ct.

I got mine on ebay. I think I paid, like, $12 for it. Then I listed it on craigslist and it sold ASAP.

Haver, it is simply my opinion that the outfit should work in totality and I just think a magenta shoe, unless it is a strappy one might be heavy and remove the focus from the whole look. Just my view, but I have a good sense of fashion and know what I notice sometimes. I have a sense of color that just thinks for this day, I would prefer a shoe that is less noticeable. I think it also might just be too much magenta, again a personal view, but I shop a lot and go to fashion shows etc, and I think she is not going for funky/runway in terms of look but something tasteful and in keeping with the event. If it were an outfit for a club, I have certainly tossed a funky shoe on with jeans for a certain look.

My bridesmaid is REALLY wanting that magenta shoe. She says since only the sash is magenta it will compliment it. I''m up in the air about it still.

Thanks for the photo haver!

My other bridesmaid loves the idea of a pashmina shawl over fur.

Oh no! I wasn't at all trying to say that your opinion on the shoes was "wrong" diamondfan. I was just offering violet another opinion! I really need to remember to put smiley faces in my messages to show that I'm trying to be playful rather than confrontational (i.e. "What's wrong with the eyes being drawn to cute shoes?"

) And since I certainly don't claim to be uber knowledgeable about fashion, I'm quite willing to defer to you. I also wish we knew what the shoe looked like since a full coverage pump would make for a lot more magenta color on the feet than a peep-toe sling back. But anyway, I apologize if I seemed like I was singling out your response by quoting you, because that wasn't my intention. Just wanted to give violet a perspective that happened to differ a bit, that's all.
