I want to upgrade my diamond to a diamond that gives excellent brilliance, fire, and scintillation.
I've found this one 1.75ct @ $23000..which I'm really interested in, but I don't know how to read an ideal scope nor an ASET image.
Can someone tell me if this diamond would give excellent performances? Thanks

does this diamond show too much light leakage??\

I'm not saying its a bad diamond or that it won't be a beautiful diamond, but I do see light leakage in the ideal scope.

so it can't tell if the stone is going to give good brilliance?

The diamond will have good brilliance but not the best. There is light leakage, but whether it is too much is up to you.

I have no great knowledge on these myself either, but I remember GOG having a good video tutorial about the ASETs. I would definitely check that out - just for edutainment's sake.

What color and clarity is this stone? I think you can find better. The star at the 5 o'clock position is wonky in all the images. That would concern me greatly at your price point.

it's a F color, VS1 3 ex gia cert

Are you flexible on color if you could improve cut and clarity? And saving about $8k for a 1.7?

i don't mind the price...i just want something that gives excellent brilliance ...will the clarity affect that much?

Not really, but the cut would be FAR superior. The only thing is the color is a K, which is a little warmer than some people prefer. But some people don't like the high colors, so...

thanks for looking up diamonds for me =)

But is it possible to see the difference btw a vvs2 excellent cut stone and a si1?

Clarity has nothing to do with light performance in most cases. Exceptions may be those stones in the SI-I range with clouds and other prominent inclusions. But in an eye clean SI1? No.

You need to be concentrating on cut quality - it's what makes the diamond sparkle, which is what you want. An ideal cut stone will also face up larger and whiter than a non-ideal cut stone. The stone you posted shows some leakage, and the H&A pattern is not so good either. You can do much better.

What is your budget and what size stone are you looking to get?

One thing you can do is look at the hearts on the diamond you posted and check them against, for instance, an ACA hearts image.
The hearts in your image are not consistent and some of the hearts are smaller. Just another point of reference for you.

i'm looking for a diamond around 1.75ct...possibly with a F color.....around $23k

This may sound like a dumb question, but why 1.75 and F? If you could find a very well cut stone in a G/H and larger size, would you be opposed to that? A G will look just as white as an F... an H will be white too. You have a very nice budget, so I'd maximize it! :))

I'm upgrading my diamond from another online website, so it's impossible for me to get white flash diamonds as they are I house diamonds...

Here's another one I've found

It's a 1.85 GVS2 ~$22k

Any suggestions?

The specs are:
Table:57
Depth:60.8
Crown angle:34.5
Pavilion angle:40.8
..
I already tried to find ideal cut specs...
But it still not as nice as the ones from ACA and Brian Gavin signature diamonds

So miserable

Don't be miserable!
I started looking in Nov '13 and just found my diamond last week. I know it will take less time for you
hang in there!

with these specs' great HCA score, you are obviously on the right track.

would this diamond be good to go?

Yes, it's got great numbers and looks nice!
