Hello,
I have been reading a lot on pricescope recently, and I have to say it is a great site. Lots of information, with a great community, I am very glad I came across it.

After all my research, I believe I have finally figured out what I am looking for, and am hoping I can get some advice on this diamond. Please tell me what you think of this aset image and ideal-scope. The diamond is in the $10,000 range, so I am looking for any help!

Thanks!

The light performance is looking like it will be wonderful on this stone!!

Very pretty stone!

Beautiful stone and perfect example of a princess cut diamond. Now the real question is, is it the right price for what it is?

What is the size of the diamond in question?

It is a 1.65 ct, just under $9,000 USD with the pricescope and wire discount.

I went into a few local diamond stores to see what kind of difference the price would be online, and when I was there I was told the ct weight was not as important as the dimensions. Is this correct? This diamond is 6.4mm X 6.4mm X 4.8, is that about the correct size a 1.65 ct should be? It is listed as an ideal cut, so I am hoping it is cut to the right depth, not just to make the top overall length and width as large as possible.

Thank you so much for your feedback so far!

Edit: It is also Colour I, and VS1 clarity, with an ideal cut.

Maybe this will help with the demensions... ::) d

Also I agree about the carat weight not mattering as much because I've come a crossed many stones that were supposedly 3ct+ and their mm was of a stone many points less.

So based on the chart a 1.65 ct should be about 6.6mm. This one is 6.4mm, is that still a good diamond?

What do you think of the price?

Now let me first say I am a little biased because I love colored gems but from what I've seen that price is pretty normal, a typical 1ct is usually around $6,000+ and the one you have there isn't to far off and it's a great quality. Id say if you have the $$ go for it! :appl:

Thanks!

I have put this one on hold for now, I am always very hesitant when it comes to big purchases, I just get nervous I am not getting the best possible deal. The only thing that has worried me about this stone is the aset image. Comparing it to a few other stones, the image appears a bit darker. Does the intensity of the green and red mean anything, or do some images just turn up the brightness to make it look brighter?

The feedback thus far has been making me feel really good about the aset image though. I am hoping to get a stone that really performs well. This stone is also part of the "A Cut Above" collection, which makes me think it should be.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on this one, thank you so much everyone for the helpful replies thus far.

Is there anyone else who would like to add their comments? Any input at all is greatly appreciated.

Thanks once again, Cymone.

I have come across a lot of his videos in this diamond "hunt". Very informative.

I am stuck on the princess cut though, it is the one parameter my girlfriend has been hinting at over the years.

What I have been doing was going for nothing less than an ideal cut, then choosing the lowest colour and clarity while keeping it appearing white and definitely eye-clean. Then I went to maximize size, and ended up on this diamond. From that video, I actually preferred the last princess cut he showed, and if that is what an ideal cut would do, I would be very happy. The aset image was better on the one in the video, so I am hoping mine will be somewhat similar :D

Thank you everyone for the help!

Of course! ::)

Your plan is a smart one, in my opinion I think that is the best way to go because unless a person really truely cares about the "stats" they should be able to find something beautiful for a decent price! :))

I love the GOG videos also, very informative and they show you everything so your questions are thoroughly answered.

Good luck with everything!!
