Ok, so I have been researching diamonds for a while know and feel like I have a good grasp on things. The only thing is that I am suffering from information overload.

Here is what I am looking for,

.7 - .9 carats
Princess (Round could work as well, I am flexible)

This is where I start getting unsure about what direction to go....

Cut - Ideal (I want the best cut diamond I can find, should I just look for AGS0 or some of these specialty "signature" cuts: H&A, Infinity, etc.)
Color - D
Clarity - IF
Polish - Excellent
Symmetry - Excellent

Basically, I am looking for the absolute best diamond i can find, the problem is I cant seem to find a diamond like this, there is always one of my criteria that is off (clarity is less or the symmetry is less). Now I am starting to wonder if I need to loosen up my criteria a little bit. Am I really going to notice the difference between IF and VVS2, or D and F? Oh, I am open to purchasing online.

So, for all of you that enjoy spending other people''s money..... please help me! Thanks in advance

Excellent, thanks for your help!

You will not notice the difference. However, there is a difference. That is why the grading system exists. People hunting for "perfection" as a goal want to satisfy their needs. Most Americans are much more liberal in their approach, but there are cultures where the quest for perfection is highly prized. One needs to address this with attention to the personal situation of the consumer. Generalities may work for the majority, but not for everyone.

If you want D-IF in a fine cut, I am sure you can find it. No one here may appreciate it like you might, bit the difference is there. How you feel about this difference is something I can't guide you on.

I did a quick search, nothing to serious, on the diamond you''re looking for.

You can absolutely find a D & IF stone within the carat range, but would have to compromise on symmetry...dropping from excellent to very good.

If you''re in no rush, I would consider contacting WF or GOG or another dealer that you feel comfortable with and consider having them locate a diamond for you. While this option may be time consuming, and the waiting game can seem endless, dealers have resources we PS''s simply don''t have access too.

Happy Hunting!
