NEED HELP IN NYC

So my bf recently made his "intentions" clear and spoke to my best friend about proposing. Apparently he has no clue about jewelry so she is asking me about what I want! I know that I want a yellow sapphire oval stone on a gold band ...very simple...But have no clue where to find a vendor in NYC or online that is reliable. I've heard of GemsNY, Brilliant Earth, and GemSelect, but have been told that they aren't the best route to go. I know that you get what you pay for but we can't afford more than a $1300 ring. Any jewelers from NYC or places people recommend in that price point?

Try Designs By Kamni in Manhattan. She has a ton of stuff of Instagram and Pinterest. https://www.instagram.com/designsbykamni/ I know she works by appointment only but she is super hands on and flexible with price.
