Need help - halo with 1 pointers, too small?

Good morning, All:

Like many gals here, I''m obsessed with HALOS! When I saw Rowan''s ring, my jaw dropped! Rowan’s RB is the same size and mine, and her halo is to die for! I decided right then and there that I must have a halo just like that!

So off I went to my jeweler with a pic of Rowan''s ring in hand.

My ring designer told me he could use my exisiting catherdal setting and remove the head part (the prong part that hold center diamond) and design me a little "halo basket", which he would attach back to my cathedral ring - so it would sit flush with my channel band. He said the halo would be pave-set with "1-pointers".

After talking to my DH that night about the design, and looking at Rowan''s ring, I started to wonder if a 1-pointer is just too small. It doesn''t look as though Rowan''s halo has teeny-tiny diamonds like that.

What do you think on 1-pointer pave halo? Does it seem that Rowan''s diamonds in her halo are larger than that?

I don''t get to visit with my jeweler until Saturday and wanted to have some frame of reference my mind.

i think 1ptrs would be perfect. you can do a search and see different sizes.

those could be 1 pointers - it''s hard to tell. It seems her ring has a bit of metal there and that can hold smaller diamonds in it. I think you should determine the width of the halo part that you want and then see what size diamond fits that best.

I have 1 pointers in my halo. I think it helps to make the halo look delicate. If the diamonds are too big they end up competing with the center stone and it ends up looking cocktail ringish. Hope that helps.

Oh, pretty in pink! I love it!

Okay...I''m feeling better now about the 1-pointers. I''ve seen the wax of the new ring setting but it doesn''t have the little holes drilled out for the melee diamonds so it''s kinda hard to imagine what the halo is going to look like. I''ve requested a drawing be sent to me so I can get an idea.
