Hi guys

Hoping you can help me settle on a diamond for an engagement ring, I've found a diamond I like but not sure if the faint fluorescence is a problem. Is this good value for US$23,500 (all inclusive)?

1.66ct round brilliant, D VS1 triple excellent

Depth 60.9
Table 57
Crown angle 34.5 degrees
Pavillion angle 40.8 degrees
Culet: None
Fluoroescence: faint

HCA score is 1.3

Thanks in advance!

I agree with Bryan- Faint fluorescence is nothing at all to be concerned about.
As far as the link: Bryan- it's an inaccurate page and needs revision.
TODAY- a client was showing me a very nice three stone ring- it's overcast in NYC today and I was not looking at the stone under a grading lamp.
I immediately noticed that one stone is fluorescent.
Pulled out the UV lamp, and bingo- one side stone was between Medium and Strong blue. Not hazy at all, but there's just a slight blue which can be noticed in normal room lighting
This is fairly common for stones of Medium to Strong blue which show a "bump" in color in regular indoor lighting- and of course more-so in direct sun.

Again Fivestarr- this should not concern you in the least- but I do feel we need accurate info for all the readers.

Thank you both for your responses, much appreciated!

More generally, does the diamond look to be fair value for the price / specs (hopefully there's enough info there without photos)?

On paper it looks lovely. I am also a big fan of "D" and "E" stones with "none" or "faint" florescence. I also think the price is very good.

Fivestar, vendors are not allowed to recommend or criticize a diamond from another vendor, even if that vendor is not identified. We can only speak to informational aspects of your post. But I expect that some other community members will chime in with the sort of advice and guidance you are seeking.
Good luck!

It's a good price but keep in mind you are paying a lot for that D color as well.

You are paying a lot, but I do love a D stone especially if the setting allows you to look through the sides of the stone, in fairness, with such a high colour you must not cover this rock up!
