HI everyone:
I have been married for 13 years and am in the process of looking to get my ring reset. I have a 2.24 round diamond that is now set in a Ritani setting (plat) with two side diamonds that are .44 each. It is lovely but it spins and it is set high and really, I am sick of looking at it to be frank. I wear a lot of bands (stacking) on my left hand and rarely wear my engagement ring anymore. But, it is such a beautiful diamond that I would like to make it into a right hand ring that I can also wear on my left when the fancy strikes me. So, up to now I have gotten with my jeweler and shown them my ideas and they would like to use a CAD program. The only thing I am somewhat hesitant about is if it will come out to be what I want and if not, then I'm wasting all this $$ for no reason. So, here is my dilemma. I would like a halo setting and I have shown her several pictures. I am trying to figure out what size diamonds to put around the halo. She said they could take the diamonds out of my Ritani but I feel these are a bit to small---they are small paves. So, any advice on size of the paves around the diamond? Also, I would like a rounded cushion halo for the setting -i think they are so pretty. I want diamonds going half way down the side and two rows sort of like a JB star ring I looked at but with no gap in between. Lastly, white 14k or platinum? I am having trouble deciding. PLAT is so much more $$. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated
