Need Help deciding color v. cut

Yes, it is GIA certified. I read on some websites that ideal table is between 61-67 (table here is 63) and ideal depth is also 61-67 (depth here is 69, which is still supposed to be very good). The girdle is slightly thick. The diamond looks good in the video, but I just don't know that much about diamonds. Don't want to miss out on a good opportunity.
I am sorry to say that I've seen many duds with those specifications. This is old information and the consensus now is that it is impossible to buy by the numbers.

Chrono - how can you tell from the video?

What are the signs?

OP - have you request images?

The area right under the table looks like mush because it isn't reflecting the light back to the eye like it should. I would not bother requesting an ASET for this one.

Just asked james allen to do ASET, but they cannot because the diamond is located in Israel. Is that a bad sign? I'm just trying to decide if I should go ahead and buy it and get it looked at by an independent expert. They have a 30 day return policy. I appreciate all of the advice.

JA allows up to 3 ASETs but they must be done all at the same time. If you choose to only get 1 ASET at this time, you are in essense forfeiting your other 2 free ASETs. JA drops ships but may have a few in their inventory; this is how most online diamond vendors do business.

Carrot - 1.8 - 2.25
Color - H - D
Clarity - VS1 - IF
Cut - Ideal
Price - want to stay as far under $17k as possible. Looking for a good deal obviously.

I guess my most important factor is that I really want it to sparkle, which is why I'm concerned with cut. Gf wants a cushion, so it is making it a little more difficult.

Absolutely nothing below H?
Will not drop to VS2? VS2 is still very eye clean. It is SI1 that is on a case by case basis.

I would be open to dropping as long as it is completely eye clean.

Thanks. I appreciate the help.

Here's another. These all look great to me, so it would be good to know how I can tell the the good from the not so good.

Well, that's why I'm here. Thanks for the honesty.

I've had recent shopping experience for cushion cuts. They are very difficult to shop for without seeing them in person. I would stay away from "crushed ice" cushion modified brilliant cuts unless you get to see them in person.

Stick with a Signature/Ideal cut. I went with a Signature BGD Hearts and Arrows cushion and love it. I sacrificed on color and clarity (I and VS2) but the fantastic cut makes it face up very white and you can not detect any inclusions with your eye. Do not be afraid of I colors and SI1 clarities as long as they are eye-clean. You will save money and still have a diamond to be proud of!

IMO, this one shows promise with regards to scintillation, brightness, and contrast:

Althought the little cluster of carbon crystals inclusions in the table can look scary at the default 20X magnification view, you can slide the magnification slider down to 1X for a more realistic perspective of the actual visual impact of this speck. One of JA's gemologists should be able to confirm whether or not this stone is eye clean.

Good luck!

Drop clarity - there is no reason for such high clarity, especially in a princess where the facets are more splintery and will hide inclusions more easily. I'd look in the VS2 / SI1 range - that should open your options a bit. No sense paying for something you literally can't see, especially if you find one that is eye-clean in a lower clarity.

Counterpoint: As a matter of rhetoric it's sexier to tell your fiance about the internally flawless diamond you bought her that symbolizes your perfect romance (nevermind that it looks ugly because it's been cut so poorly).

Cut is king, but it's hard to explain, especially with cushions.

I saw those two and considered them for a bit. I think they are nice stones but not wow. It seems that pickings are slim but if you have a time constraint, then I would consider them in your ASET lineup request.

I posted this stone on someone else's thread:

This is a gorgeous modern cushion - Good Old Gold Signature cut. It's $16642 wire price. It's an SI1, so call them to see if it's eye clean.

I'd buy this stone in a heartbeat, no reservations.

ETA - I just called GOG for you and asked about the stone. It's not currently in house, but Matt from GOG was familiar with the stone and said it was eye clean. I'd definitely get them to call this one in.

I saw this one, too. OP is afraid of SI1, unfortunately.
