I am currently considering a round diamond in the 1.75ct range that's G+ in color and VS2+ clarity. Below is a stone I found that would like some feedback from the experts.

1.77ct
F color
VS2 clarity
7.77 x 7.78 x 4.77

Price: $20,000

Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Table: 57%
Depth: 61.4%
Crown Angle: 34
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Girdle: Medium - Slightly Thick (faceted) 4%

Comment: Additional clouds, pinpoints and surface grain not shown.

HCA score: 1.1. Excellent all across except for Spread which is Very Good.

I think it looks great!

Should I be worried about the surface grain and clouds if it's rated at VS2?

Probably not. Have you asked their gemologist to confirm that it's eye clean. Be clear about what you consider eye clean to be...from 6 inches? 3 inches? from the side? I've purchased a few diamonds from JA and have found their gemologist to be very accurate and honest. It's unusual to find a VS2 that isn't eye clean at this weight. I'd be sure to ask if the clouds are have any impact on the stones light performance, again I doubt it, but I would definitely ask.

The gemologist did say that it's eye clean but did not specify the metrics in terms of distance. They also did not mention if the clouds or grain would have an impact on light performance. I will ask and report back with their comments. Thanks.

Looks like the inclusions for this VS2 diamond are black crystals instead of white. I am wondering if this is a deal breaker since most people would prefer white inclusions than black ones. The gemologist did specify that the diamond is eye clean from 8" - 10" distance. I am not sure if I can take their words for it since they are obviously trying to make a sale. The GIA certificate number for this diamond is 2141888292. You can see the inclusions from the idealscope image I posted above (near center of the table). Should I still pull the trigger or look elsewhere?
