This is just my opinion, but I would spend less on the setting, and more on the diamond, but that just me

The diamond you selected is more of a 60/60 type stone. Some are really lovely but I'm not loving the angles on the stone.

I'd call some of the vendors and tell them what size you are looking for to see what they recommend. Staying below the one carat mark will get you more for your money.

I too would rather have more money in the stone than the setting and would rather have one nice stone in a simple solitaire than three not so good stones in a setting.
