I am looking to purchase this diamond possibly. I have tried researching stuff online about cushion cut but have not found much information on approprate table, depth, etc. Any advice on the quality of this diamond for under $6000 would be very much appreciated as I would like to make a decision by the end of this week. Thank you very much for looking MB

Well the table is huge. Especially for the depth. But really, in order to say anything about cushions we need pictures. Sorry!

ditto: i''ll also copy here what I posted on the thread you started yesterday:

cushions are tough. there is really no way to tell much about it based on the numbers alone. your eyes really are the most important thing. I''d suggest taking it to an independant appraiser just to be able to verify what exactly you are getting and that the price you are paying is fair. make sure the place you buy has a adaquate return period so you have time to do this.

Thank you for replying so quickly. I thought the table seemed huge and i Have read some stuff on the internet that a table % should not exceed 75. It kind of stinks that there is no specifics for cushions. Is there a certain cut that is si, MBmilar and I can compare to. Unfortunately I wont be able to get a picture on the internet. Anymore advice, references or specific specs that you would look for in this kind of diamond would be much appreciated.
thanks, MB

Cushions can be so tricky to gauge by the numbers. Here's a link to Lizz's beautiful cushion (the second photo in the thread) https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-new-cushion-downgrade.43584/ that has a 53.9% depth and 70% table, which most of us would be afraid of, but it's so pretty. Hers is not a modified brilliant like the one you've listed above. Try to find a vendor like Good Old Gold who can get their hands on fantastic cushions and take amazing videos. You may want to watch their tutorials on cushions which will give you a great idea as to the many different styles of cushions out there.

Hi Matty!

In addition to the advice you have received, I would suggest asking the vendor for pics of the diamond, both magnified and non mag and an ASET image if he has one. Also check very carefully that your idea of ' eyecleanliness' matches the vendor's, especially in a diamond of this size.

Here you go, ASET info

I''d pass on that stone so fast it''ll make your head spin. A crown height of only 8%? It''ll be so flat that the stone will look dead! A good crown height will allow more light to pass though and return as rainbow light, aka FIRE.

Depth: Anything under 65% is fine. I normally also accept stones around 68% if the crown height is very high.
Table: Anything under 65% is fine. The smaller, the better.
Crown: For more fire, aim for 12% and up
Girdle: To maximize size, no thicker than thick. For safety, no thinner than thin.
Polish: at least VG
Symmetry: at least VG

Does this vendor have a return policy that you can rely on? If so, then if you want to take a chance on this diamond, if you don''t like it you can return it. You are really better off working with a vendor who has in house diamonds and has the expertise to be your eyes, but if you cannot do this, make sure you are covered with the return policy.
