I am trying to find out what the opinion is of a stone I was thinking about buying:

WEIGHT: 4.87 CARAT
DIMENSIONS: LENGTH-10.42MM.; WIDTH-8.815MM., DEPTH-6.075MM
DEPTH PERCENTAGE: 68.9%, GIRDLE: VERY THIN-MEDIUM
CLARITY: SI1, COLOR: I-J, SYMMETRY: GOOD, POLISH: VERY GOOD, FLUORESCENCE: NONE

Just by reading the spec does this sound like a stone that will look white with a good cut in a platinum setting?

you should probably change your username for security reasons.

On fancy cut its a bit hard to tell from the limited amount of information that you have provided. So not many are going to be able to post their thoughts. Does the vendor offer Idealscope, aset images and actual diamond pictures? Is this also certed?

not good...too shallow and 1.18 l/w ratio-not even close to square.

I'd have to disagree on the too shallow comment but the non squareness I don't like and seeing that it has a color range instead of one particular color tells me that it is certified buy a reputable gem laboratory and many a time the color and or clarity ratings will be off.

no such grade... :nono:

It was a diamond that was being auctioned off by the GSA. Thanks for the advice, I passed on it.
