Hey, first time poster looking for some advice.

What is the difference between a polish that is excellent and one that is very good, is it worth holding out for an excellent?

Depth and table, I have been looking at a lot of stones between 70 and 73 for both, is this a good range to be in, i know 60s are ideal.

Thanks for reading:)

Hope your not referring to rounds... welcome to PS... :wavey:

I'm guessing you are looking at a fancy shape. I wouldn't hold out for excellent's if you have found a stone that fits what you want color, clarity size and budget.

Thanks guys:) been sick the last few days just getting back on my feet!

Yes, I am referring to a Princess Cut for both the symmetry and polish as well as table and depth. Very tough to find info on this, best place ive seen is actually on these forums!

If you are looking at fancies. Throw out the numbers. They are meaningless.

Focus on faceting and light return.

Shop at vendors with images.

If you don't know what to look for, then tell us your budget and what you want and we can post you some good stones so you can follow up on them.

It depends. Visibly there’s no difference between EX and VG finish. However the Princess Cuts that are targeted for best performance often have EX finish as a result of care in the craftsmanship.

As Gypsy said, numbers mean little. An ASET image to post will help the forum members comment on performance quality.

Gypsy and Diamond_Hawk thanks for the relys,
