I am looking at buying a diamond off Blue Nile and i am about to have a nervous break down. I was about to order the diamond but was hoping to get everyones opinions first. I am worried about it being VS2 with the several inclusions (feathers and crystals) shown in the report. Is this something to worry about? Being i can't see diamond for visual inspection im looking for more educated opinions. And any other information on the diamond would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Bo

Re: Need advice on diamond selection. Any help appreciated.

Hi there,

Usually a VS2 stone will not have any visible inclusions to the naked eye. On the GIA report it does say "Clarity grade is based on clouds not shown." Hopefully someone else will chime in on that comment more specifically as the above statement can mean the stone will have a hazy or cloudy look to it. I believe that's usually with an SI1 or SI2 stone though.....

On another note, the crown angle is 36 degrees which is a tad high. It means there may be some light leakage in the lower girdles and there is weight in the depth of the crown as opposed to the width or spread. That's pretty nit picky though so you may not even notice it!!

If you're really interested in the stone, you can always return it if you're not satisfied. I'm not sure if you are responsible for the return shipping though.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I had put the all the respected angles in the HCA tool and it came up to a 1.9 so i was thinking that the numbers were good, however i have no idea what im doing I am just winging it. I have done alot of research but there is obviously alot to it all im sure. Thanks again for your input i appreciate it.
