@Rubies-R-Me -- your emerald cut eternity is in my inspiration file too! Its stunning! (Goals!)

What size are the individual diamonds?

Awww.. thanks!!! Each stone is .80 for a total of 11.20 carats.
It was total luck and good timing that I found this ring. A jeweler (who has now since closed) that I used to buy a lot of things from had a customer with a size 4 finger who had the ring made and wanted to sell it. We negotiated back and forth and back and forth for about 3 months.. I came up a little.. she came down a little.. she came down a little more.. I came up a little more.. and finally with the jeweler as a middleman we came met at a place that was good for all of us.
I remember the first time I tried it on and it fit perfectly and the jeweler exclaimed.. "Cinderella!" :D

That’s the dream! To be able to try it on and fall in love with it, and go home with it. Unfortunately where I live this kind of jewelry isn’t around to try on. I wish though. These are a few pictures I have saved on my favorites that are part of the dream collection. Rubies’ and the asscher are my favorites. 8D7A5800-9EBD-4FC6-BAF3-6CF222FFB756.jpeg 8C11B66F-4168-4247-B367-0743B5434B00.jpeg 8994995E-816F-4CD5-B784-3C51E6579DD0.jpeg 3AEFF74A-79D6-4C99-A6FA-2E1D6DF62F51.jpeg

Well as I said before Classicallychic.. I'm very honored to be in that group. :D
Funny.. I have a sapphire ring that is quite vJ3K8LYUQGihNWAtpf9nUQ.jpg similar!

Love it!! Very Diana-esque. Jewels by Grace had a beautiful pink sapphire one I was in love with for years, and I wanted to cry when it sold. I had the link saved but when I clicked it now it’s giving me an error page. I looked up the description and found the images on Google. It was even more beautiful on her hand too. I wish I had jumped on that when I could’ve.

Looks like an Oscar Heyman piece! OH often works with pink sapphires and there are some lovely ones on the market. Here are a few that are similar:

It does look like an Oscar Heyman. I came across another one that sold on 1st dibs. I love how the prongs of the sold Jewels by Grace ring aren’t towards the outside of the diamonds, but rather the center of them. It allows the roundness of the diamonds to show more. This is the one off of 1st dibs. 6518B896-54B2-4684-9C49-74B28F048AA1.jpeg

Check this out- only $250,000. No problem, right? (I could sell my house, car, husband, son and all my organs and still not be able to afford this beauty). Super pretty!

That's insane! That's the price range I always expected jewelry of this calibre to be around. I never in a million years thought it would be within my budget. It was always a pipe dream, like a private jet or a mega yacht. I don't get what the difference between this and a 30-40K ring would be. The 42K would be F/G .80 each and set in platinum in size 8, and the one I'm looking to get it an even lower color grade and a good bit cheaper than that. Can't imagine it would be worth it to spend about six times that much. I love luxury, but I love a good deal more.

Woah! For that price the ring should include a house, husband, car, son and a few organs!

Yes, and not the kind you play once a week!

HI:

Custom work is often nonrefundable so you really should be "certain". I agree with those who've suggested buying a "stand in" ring.

@Rubies-R-Me her ring is what dreams are made of. I can understand why you are inspired.

cheers--Sharon

Ha! It really is a beauty. Screenshot and save to favorites! Otherwise you’ll be scrolling through years of screenshots to find it like I did today. Lol

Lol it's such a pain having to find old pics of shinies isn't it? I used to be so good with renaming pics and putting them in folders. But now they're all just buried in my Google Photos lol.

Precisely. I have a folder for jewelry that has about five pictures in it. Everything else is scattered on favorites, Pinterest, random screenshots, and my favorite: vague memory.

This shows how old I am.. I print them and actually keep my "one day" pieces in a paper folder.

That might be the safest idea. No phone crashing or losing it, and all of a sudden all the years of collecting masterpieces gone in an instant!

"Vague memory" is the worst. I just saw an awesome band for my DH that would make a great alternate or travel (ha) ring. I totally thought I had bookmarked/saved it. Nope. Couldn't find it again for weeks. But I did eventually find it!

Ladies! He found a suite that fits the bill. They are between .70-.77 ct each, H/I, VS2. Measurements are 5.9-6.1x4.1-4.3mm, so the ratio is about 1.439. Here are some pictures. The last two pictures are before they were sorted out for size, color, and clarity or cleaned from the jewelers fingerprints.

Any opinion on how these look or if I should look for more elongated stones? FYI the sapphire eternity band I posted a while back is a 7mm height. These stones are a max 6.1mm. Does anyone have any reference of what an eternity band of these dimensions look like? My jeweler wants to send all these stones out to GIA for certification. Is that a necessary step?

I don't know why, but these don't look as impressive as I was hoping for. Are my expectations out of line with my budget and finger size?

Wow!!! Those are gorgeous stones!!! What a find.
I think people always say that stones look bigger once they are set so I think they overall look will be larger than you think.
How exciting that you are on your way.
How much would it add to the ring to have a GIA report each stone?
I'm not sure how I feel about it..
Maybe others will have a more definite opinion.

I think the ring will look plenty massive once set! It’s hard to imagine when you look at only one single stone because that single stone isn’t very big on its own and it can be difficult to imagine just how blingy it’s going to get when there’s like 15 of them. But once you have a bunch of them on your hand then it’s a different case altogether, especially if you set them N-S! I can’t tell if the stones themselves are good or not because I think fancy shapes are almost impossible to gauge via a picture.

As for GIA certification, personally I wouldnt bother because it would add a significant cost to your ring I think. It’s one thing if it’s cheap to do so, but I doubt it would be. If the price for the stones is reasonable and the jeweler trustworthy id take him at his word (and get him to write down said details in the invoice).
