Need advice for verifying diamond

I've recently purchased an EGL certified diamond from independept supplier and have reason for concern that such certificate does not match diamond purchased. Should I have an independent appraiser verify authenticity, or, send to EGL to be verified??? Thanks in advance for any of your suggestions

Find a reputable Jeweler in your area and ask them to look at your diamond and compare it to the certificate.
