Yes, my 26 yrs old Maytag top loader without high tech gadgets... still going strongbaby nurse|1379457562|3522530 said:The one we have now is a 7 year old Kenmore Elite. It's been acting up for the last 3 years (wouldn't drain during the final spin cycle) and has finally died. Do you have a washing machine that you're happy with and can recommend? TIA![]()

(I live in my father's house in Connecticut with him and with my daughter.) Mine is a Bosch and it is fantastic. I loved it. After reading absolutely everything in Consumer Reports, I decided to get that one because all the best reviewed ones by Consumer Reports were hated by most of their owners.
I highly recommend the Bosch, although it is pricey. I also recommend that you go on living with it after you buy it.

It is one that doesn't have the center agitator thingy. We rent and it came with the house, otherwise it would be gone. In the condo I own there is a GE top loader that isn't HE (and has an agitator) and it is 10x better than this one.
ETA- My friends have an LG Washer/Dryer. They "talk" to each other so the dryer knows what to do based on the washer's settings.
