I was just emailed these pictures of Namibian Tourmalines from a gem dealer I know. I have never seen pictures of such nice Namibian tourmalines before.

Ok, those are just gorgeous, what is the price per carat?? The color on those are just breathtaking!!

I love the oval. He told me they were about $500/ct but I never pressed since I wasn''t going to buy them.

Thanks, I just love the color and thought it might be a nice alternitive to buying that ever expensive emerald that I love so much!!!

My local jeweler is know for his emeralds. He invented and owns the patent to the Excel emerald enhancement process He imports and enhances (when needed) is own emeralds. The URL is:

http//www.arthurgroomandco.com

He was written up in February Professional Jeweler:

He guarrenties the enhancement for life. They can be ultrasonicly and/or steam cleaned. If you go to his website lookup the section on eternaty emeralds.

Oh Oh Oh YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!!!!!!!

The color of the 37 carat is more reminecent of Brazilian stones from an area north of Teofilo Otoni. The fact that it is an oval is significant as well. Most tourmaline, Brazilian and otherwise is cut square to keep the dark C axis of the crystal from darkening the face-up hue. I''ve seen very few fine ovals or rounds from this source. The blue=green multicolor effect is striking. It shows almost a Carribean Blue (medium toned blue) on this monitor. Quite lovely.

Hello Richard,

Maybe I should see if I can talk him down . I may never find another.

kaleigh,

Here is a stone the supplier has for sale. His freind had it for years and needs the money. It is a 1.61ct brazilian tourmaline mined in the early 70''s.
