My upgrade has arrived

My DH agreed to an upgrade of my original .80 ct diamond. We purchased a 1.234 ct ACA from WF--see specs in a previous thread. It arrived on Friday and it is beautiful

We fight over who gets to play with it! It makes fire, likes to be taken for walks around the house, held up to the window, the curio cabinet, etc., etc. The plan was for the new diamond to be set in my old yg setting. E-ring has four .20 pointers and w-ring has five .20 pointers. The only thing DH asked is that I not change the overall style of the rings. We went to the jeweler to have this done, today. Jeweler carries HOF. When DH saw how the ACA looked next to my original diamonds, he said, "This won't work!" He picked out a matched five stone e-ring and w-ring from the HOF line and said this is what I want you to have. I nearly fell over

We traded in my old set to offset the price of the HOF... DH is so pleased to be choosing the setting! He said now that we've gotten an ideal cut stone, there is no going back

I did not expect this. I just wanted to share this with my fellow PSers

BTW At least the HOF setting was less $$$ than the A. Jaffe setting I've been lusting after

The jeweler is ordering the settings in my size. It will take about two weeks. I will need your step-by-step instructions on how to take the pics. I tried to take some of my original set and got nowhere!!

I have the stone. Since it''s fun to play with, I didn''t want to leave it

I had it insured and I feel OK with having it at home. I hope that''s not foolish, but I have all my other jewelry here!

How exciting!!! I''m so glad you love your beautiful new diamond. The trouble with these ideal cut stones is that then every other diamond you owned before just doesn''t seem good enough!
