This isn't the word I was thinking of.. I am now learning a new word! The one that's stuck at the tip of my tongue is more of a "laymen" language.

I was on .com too. I was looking for the one with the most 'laymans' words. One of them (don't recall which thesaurus it was) is really stuffy and instead of giving you more common words gives you even MORE uncommon ones.

Impulsive definitely works. I like impetuous because it (to me and I am a weirdo) sounds like what it means more, in terms of when you say it. The word "impetuous" SOUNDS impetuous to me. I don't know if that makes any sense. And no, I don't spend my time reading the dictionary. And yes I have been accused of that before.
