Yes, similar to sizing balls. The ring should still slide over my finger easily, but not spin around. I thought they might be more comfy than the balls because they aren''t as obtrusive. Check out this thread for a better picture of someone elses:

Okay everyone, my fingers are shaking as I write this......My ring is sooo outstanding, gorgous, breathtaking, astounding etc, etc, I am beyond words. Sorry if this sounds a little obnoxious but I really cannot believe the quality, SPARKLE, (even from a marquise it sparkles more than any RB I have ever seen) and overall craftsmanship of the ring. I will post pics sometime this evening, sorry for the wait but my camara is out for repairs so I have to borrow my parents.

A HUGE thanks to WF and Bob Hoskins for putting up with my impatience and creating the ring of my dreams. The journey was long to get here but it was worth every second of anxiety and worry. I believe that the other previous jewelers did not work out for a reason b/c I don't believe that they ever could have come close to matching the quality of this ring

Oh yes, would you like to tell how you finally managed to choose this particular marquise? I would like to understand your thought process, deriving to such a beautiful diamond. What MUST one avoid, for instance? Diamond specs to show as well, maybe? But if you think it''s too invasive a request, then it''s OK. It''s just that I feel excited for you!

I searched online for diamonds that had the best cut b/c that was my biggest concern. After a few months of educating myself online, I chose to view a diamond from USA Certed, based on the excellent cut. I had it sent to an independent appraiser in my area and fell in love. I was lucky b/c it was the first diamond that I looked at (not counting those at my local B&M stores). I has virtually no bow tie and is a real stunner. Here are the stats:
