This can cause her the speakership come Nov.I have total respect for her. A class act all the way, and honest.
Very classy of you Madam Speaker .... Imagine a R speaker doing the samething after Obama's SOTU speech. wonder what the liberal media would be saying?
While I don't support her doing this, it's no less classy than his prior refusal to shake her hand when she extended it. Or, more importantly, the lies and half-truths his "campaign speech" was choked with.
Pelosi gets a bye from me on the paper shred. Everyone has a breaking point. She is, however, shrewd and calculating, which is the only way to work with someone like trump. I hate that our government has come to this type of war of wills but nothing will change until trump is out of office.
I beg to differ. Our country is much better off than it was 3 years ago. Pelosi showed how low she can go when she had a premeditated tantrum in front of the entire country. Very wicked and classless in my opinion.
I am not antagonized when you laugh at me - let the numbers speak for themselves.
You're conveniently failing to address the classlessness of his refusal of her handshake. And all the lies.
You state as if it is fact: "Our country is much better off than it was 3 years ago," ignoring the huge number of people who disagree and people whose lives clearly demonstrate that that is not their truth. Whose lives matter just as much as yours. And they are not going anywhere. Also ignoring all the objective measures that show that no, the country isn't actually better off for the majority of people.
Your "team bias" is showing. Blatantly.

Why should he??..The person who started this "phony impeachment" against him. You're conveniently failing to address the classlessness of his refusal of her handshake. And all the lies.

Q 60, I agree with you 1000%!!...My opinion is just as valuable as your opinion. I respect your opinion and you should respect mine. I simply stated what I truly feel whether you agree with me or not. Unfortunately for the dems, the fake impeachment did not work. I'm sorry that you're upset by all of this however, the American people are tired of all of the drama that the dems have created. Again, my opinion - not meant as an argument, just stating how I feel. And yes, our economy is much stronger than it was 3 years ago. I don't agree with many things that Trump says, if the dems would bring up a good candidate with good and reasonable policies, I would consider voting for that person. Socialism isn't going to work in our country, it will destroy our country. I'm sorry, I don't agree with handouts, I believe in job creation. I don't believe that votes can be casted in jail cells, I don't believe in sanctuary cities and many other policies that the left wing is preaching to our country.

The fact is most minorities are much better off than they were under the Obama admin. Minorities under the Obama admin.equal more welfare, but under the Trump admin. equal more jobs. Every new job for minorities = less votes for the Dems. party in Nov, and w/o minority votes the D party will not win back the Presidency in Nov.
There's so much here, I don't even know where to begin.
"Socialism isn't going to work in our country, it will destroy our country." Absolutely no one is suggesting, or has suggested, socialism. Everyone except a few naive college kids understands that socialism doesn't work. What does work? A base of market-driven capitalism balanced by a social safety net that ensures that everyone has a roof over their head, clothes on their back, food in their mouths, medical care, and the opportunity for an education. The rest is up to them unless they have a legitimate disability. This works. This works extremely well. The Nordic countries, western Europe, Canada, and Australia prove this on a daily and yearly basis. This is what Bernie and Elizabeth are talking about. If you don't balance capitalism with a social safety net, you have an utterly inhumane system with the wealthy and powerful preying on everyone else. Which is what we're seeing more and more here. I'm so weary of having to explain this to people over and over again.
"Fake" impeachment? Sorry - it was a real impeachment. It really happened.
"the American people are tired of all of the drama that the dems have created" When did you start speaking for all of the American people? I speak to many real Americans that entirely disagree with this.
"And yes, our economy is much stronger than it was 3 years ago." No, it's not. See my post above. Stock market performance is not a measure of the health of the economy as a whole. It's just not. Consult economic theory.
"I'm sorry, I don't agree with handouts, I believe in job creation." The "job creation" myth is just that - a myth. Just a new term for "trickle-down economics", which we've had since Reagan. Plenty of time to show that it doesn't work. The profits don't "trickle down"; they're hoarded in unbelievably outrageous salaries and bonuses for top executives - even when they screw up - and profits to shareholders, who are already pretty wealthy to even be in the position to buy shares. Meanwhile, the wages of workers have remained stagnant. And both the income gap and wealth gap have grown to outrageous levels. The overwhelming majority of people don't want a handout, other than a little help during the occasional crisis to get back on their feet, which everyone needs at some point in their lives. (I'm pretty sure you have needed some kind of help from someone during a rough time, too.) The umpteen people out there - and I personally know several - who are working three jobs, scrimping and saving, and still can't make rent and live in 24-7 fear of being bankrupted by an illness or injury aren't asking for a handout - they're just asking for a humane and reasonable wage.
I'm not crazy about the sanctuary city thing either, but this kind of extremism is a typical reaction to how hostile the current administration is to immigrants. The people coming to our borders are human beings; the majority of them are utterly desperate, coming from places where they and their children were literally starving to death due to years-long drought attributable to climate change, and/or fleeing horrendous gang violence, and with no help from their military dictatorship governments (some of which are the result of US interference in their governments in the 1950s). He has demonized these people, speaking of them as if they are not even human and telling lies about them to manipulate his voters. He could have put money into adding to the court resources to process them faster and to use ankle monitors to ensure their appearance in court. (When ankle monitors are used, court appearances run well above 90%.) He chose instead to put it in more detention facilities. He chose to separate children from their parents; his immigration advisors are on the record as saying that they deliberately chose to do so in the hopes that cruelty would deter people from trying to immigrate here even LEGALLY. It's not mentioned much on the news, but his administration has put into place several policies that are directly hostile to LEGAL immigration. (I know, as I follow this closely, since my husband is a naturalized citizen who came here from Europe.) We are going to have to find a humane way to deal with this as a nation, because the problem isn't going away - it's only going to get worse with climate change. Areas around the equator are going to become so hot that they are unsurvivable to live in or travel to. If we didn't have extremists in one direction sitting in the White House, I'm hopeful that we could come together to try and come up with a workable, humane compromise that would eliminate the extremism on the other side.
You have every right to your opinion. You have every right to express your opinion. I respect those rights. But I will debate that opinion if it isn't backed up by facts, and I can't respect aspects of opinions that I find inhumane.
Let's agree to disagree. I can't fathom what you're saying, it doesn't sit well with my beliefs. The President has the best numbers he has had since he's been in office - the economy is strong, unemployment is under 4% and yes, our borders need to be protected. You're a left winger and I am a right winger, we will never agree so I call a truce. Maybe I should wear a white surrender suit like Nancy Pelosi wore last night.
No, the economy isn't strong. You simply can't back that up with facts. The unemployment number is skewed - I've already addressed that. At what point did I suggest that our borders shouldn't be protected? I have not even hinted at any such thing - nor have any of the Democratic candidates or any but a few extremist nut jobs. I did suggest that folks come together and try to find a humane and workable compromise that deals with the refugee crises we have going on around the world, which will get worse with climate change, without going to the current administration's extremes OR sanctuary cities. Obviously that includes appropriate border protection. What that I've said doesn't "sit well" your beliefs? That is unclear to me. I would like to know, if you're inclined to share that. It's up to you whether or not you wish to dialogue further. If you don't wish to, I'll respect your wishes.
Put on your bulletproof vest..@Dancing Fire - thank you. Whew......I'm not so bad - it's a scary thing being a Republican on this forum!
Wife's and our family been there done that!!. We didn't fall into the welfare trap...You see, where I come from, we all roll up our sleeves and work hard.
Yeah, generally I admire Pelosi but IMO Pelosi tearing up the speech came off petty and vindictive, traits I attribute to Trump.
