Just found out Brian Gavin (brianthecutter.com) finished my recut yesterday (see https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/planning-to-have-diamond-recut-part-two.104056/ )

I am expecting the details and photos later today but for now I know it went from 2.47 steep/deep to 2.10 and looks AMAZING!!

I can''t wait to see it!! He is sending it off today to AGS for grading, hopefully we will have a fast turnaround. I''ll be back later with photos!

AGS is a great lab to work with in terms of turn around and overall customer service, I''m sure you won''t have to wait long for the results.

I can''t wait to see photos!

Did I miss - what are Brian and Lesley doing now that it''s the new year and they aren''t with WF anymore?

Woohoo, I can''t wait to see the pics!!!

They are in the process of setting up a full service operation and currently have a jewelry workshop in place with full CAD capabilities. I''m sure there will be an announcement. For now, I contacted them through Brian''s website, brianthecutter.com

I sent "before" photos and scans of my stone on my thread at https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/planning-to-have-diamond-recut-part-two.104056/

It''s gorgeous! What are the before and after specs for color and clarity?

Wow, what a difference! Can''t wait to see what AGS thinks of it. I wish I had a diamond to send to Brian for recutting.

Thank you all! I am just thrilled beyond words over how it turned out. Lost less than 1/10 mm in diameter. Now her weight matches her new shapely body

and the sparkle is blinding. Deciding now on mounting while at AGS. May wind up in the old setting for now so I can take my time deciding what to do.

Wow is right!!!! That is amazing!!!!

Not really sure, it was purchased with a certificate(??) from an unknown lab, as J SI-1. The dealers wife was an appraiser and agreed, but Brian thought it was much warmer, maybe L or even M, but it held alot of color in it''s depth, we''ll see what AGS has to say. I love the firey sparkle and am not bothered by the warmth (I''m a Floridian, used to warmth

fantastic - wow!!!!!!!!!

Looks beautiful! Brian certainly did a wonderful job and what a dramatic improvement in the technical details of the diamond!

congrates!!

That is amazing! I am soooo happy for you! I would be on cloud nine if it were my recut. Cant wait to see the reset finished product!

Wow! That looks like a whole new stone. Recutting was a great idea, and imo really worth it.

Can''t wait to hear what the color turns out to be now.

congrats!

Thanks! I still don''t fully understand the "numbers" but the end result is fantastic. I am guessing it will look bigger even though just a tad smaller.

Wow! I can''t wait to see the stone mounted in a setting! Looks like you made a really good choice - these recuts are really something else!

WOW! That is all I can say is just WOW. The improvement is incredible. It may have dropped some weight, but the diameter barely changed. Even with the change in diameter, that diamond was so deep you know it didn''t have edge to edge return on the light, so I will be curious if you actually subjectively perceive a LARGER stone when you get it in your hot little hands!
Now I too, want a diamond that I can send in for a recut. I want to join the Kelli and Shady71 club!

Even as a spectator (that is often what i feel like with all these gorgeous stones-) I can see the significant difference.
Congratulations on a good choice and a fabulous stone.
