My (her) engagement ring shipped out a day ahead of schedule and I picked it up from FedEx on the way to work this morning. After opening the ring-box inside of the box inside of the padded bag inside of the box inside of the larger box I was able to view the ring in person. Everyone said that it would look much more delicate in person than the giant images we see here and I definitely agree. From the top the tips of the prongs are barely there. All of the ladies here at work thought that it was very elegant and sparkly.

She was torn between the Tiffany and Cartier 1895 style solitaires and end the end decided she favored the Cartier style a little more. I think the Legato Sleek Line is a good balance between the two. It's got the cathedral/basket of the Cartier, but the Legato head is a bit more prong-like than a lot of basket settings I've seen.

I'll post the pics from WF now and spend some time tonight playing around with the camera to take some more.

When I first looked at the arrows something seemed off, but then I realized that the diamond was oriented differently than in all of the IS images which have one of the arrows pointing up. I like how they've rotated it so that the prongs and the points of the cathedral taper fall between arrows.

Great job!

The way the diamond is set is the way I always request my stone to be set... straight edge of table *parallel* to the shank, and no arrows covered by prongs! YES, I am THAT specific!!!

Stunning.

wow don''t know how i missed this. congrats emnivek, it looks awesome! WF does great work and that diamond looks perfect. Nothing better than that arrows shot.

btw gl with dodging your intended''s questions! mine has been pretty good about not asking, but i imagine as time wears on that might change... definitely agree with the silent fine print tactic

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I tried taking some pics over the weekend but wasn't able to do so under the best of conditions. Ah the joys of trying to do macro photography without very good lighting and trying to hold the ring with one hand while focusing the camera with the other. This is one of the better shots I was able to get.

Here is a profile shot which shows off the details of the head.

Another profile shot, but from a different angle.

The focus is a bit soft in this one, but I thought it had a nice warm look to it.

And finally, for now, a shot with some funky reflections.
