My new vintage love: Victorian padlock bracelet <3

Guys. I am IN LOVE with this bracelet.

DH’s Christmas gift and I am so in love. I know nothing about padlock bracelets except when @kenny posted he bought one for A dollar and when @Cerulean was looking for hers. I read more about them and it turns out they have such romantic meaning. Okay so I search for one and found her on Etsy.

Oh my gosh - beaaaatiful! Love the engraving. I was so torn about whether I should get an engraved or plain one! You picked a beautiful one. They seem to be gaining popularity and I wouldn't be surprised to see them continue to increase in price and become harder to find...

mine is off getting sized (2 links removed) and I am dying to have it back!

Also, what a fabulous stack...the antique curb link bracelet, pearls, and Cartier all on one wrist? I nearly fainted!

I had owned a sterling silver padlock bracelet with the etching on the links like yours- but your gold bracelet is stunning. (If mine was gold, I wouldn't have sold it!)

I'm tagging @stracci2000 because this would be a story that she would love too (if she hasn't seen the thread already). Also it's interesting to read that thread because back in 2010 most of the commenters didn't seem to know that much about it either, and today if that thread appeared so many of us would instantly recognize what it was. It shows how vintage and antique jewelry has really gained popularity over the years.

Thank you! I agree, I think the gold bring out the magic. I am also surprise that it mixes well with contemporary style. Perhaps it’s because the lock itself is very basic but the engraving keeps it vintage. The seller states that it’s early 1900s but I suspect it’s more 1930-1950 latest because of the hallmark. Still it’s a piece of history!

I agree. It’s gaining popularity like Cerulean said and rightly so. It’s vintage but still very contemporary. I think we all dream of finding vintage stuff for cheap. Wish I live in UK, I would go to all of the garage sale!
