My Jann Paul 3D Renderings are in

Thank you for your input. Do you think going up to 3mm would be to wide? Also as far as the micropave 3 row, the only reason I was thinking about that was that the halo design she liked the most had a lot of diamonds on the shank. Freddy Boston reposted the picture earlier in this thread. Jann Paul can offer a split shank with traditional halo, and at least for now is not interested in a wedding band.

What Freddy Boston posted was just one row of pave going down the shank of the setting. Now, I do like a good split shank.

Like this but with your round halo...

Edit...again, not sure how far you should stray from what she showed you she liked. I know you're trying really hard to give her
something amazing and unique (and I'm sure it will be). I applaud you for that. Just, my opinion, don't stray too far from what she likes.

Edit ...3mm shank. The problem with going too big on the shank is that you will need bigger pave, and those bigger stones will
start to overpower the halo.

.05 stone is 2.5mm
,07 stone is 2.7mm

I, personally, think that's getting too big on the side stones, but get others' opinions on what they think.

Does she work with her hands?

To be honest, I do not know how much work with her hands she does. We have a 5 1/2 month infant, and she is a stay at home mother in Thailand. So use of her hands I guess would be in the normal course of child rearing and household work. She lives in Thailand, and I'm here in America. So she is physically raising him pretty much on her own. it's one reason I want to get her the best that I can afford, and to get the things she would like. Like a gold bracelet.

When I'm there again in December/January, I will be encouraging her to leave our child with me, and go out and relax. Even if it's only one day That way she can get a total break for one day, I think would be good for her. Preferably she'll do that at least one day, and hopefully a couple of days.

She likes the traditional halo style, but she loves this style. So that gives me the impression she likes the bling.

FYI...someone was just asking about the difference between 2mm and 2.5mm stones in this thread. If you go down to post #10
you can see the difference between two rings side-by-side.

If you are going split shank you can do bigger pave on the wider part of the shank, then smaller stones on where it splits and leads up
to the halo of the ring.

I think pave on the underside of the basket isn’t worth it. You can’t see that part of the ring 90% of the time, and those stones will get dirty very very quickly. Spend your money on bling that she’ll see.

3mm is a very wide band. But that photo of what she liked is a completely different style. We’re happy to help, but we’re sort of going by US styles and preferences. So we may be giving you advice that doesn’t correspond in some cases.

It’s best to get very very clear on what she wants. No matter how detailed she is, the actual ring will still be a surprise.

This has been clear from the outset. A classic halo is what she always comes back to. So that part is settled. Now it's just the details of the shank and how much bling the ring gets.
