Check out the original thread in the Colored Gems Forum, but upon BrightSpot's suggestion, I figured I'd post it here, too.
Specs:
Green Tourmaline in "modified princess" cut (octagonal) by Barry Bridgestock and sold by acstones.com. 8.4mm, 3.07 cts. It looks more like it does in my avatar than in these pics.
Setting is custom made in white gold, with 6 2mm diamonds, hand engraving, and faux fishtail prongs.
For those of you who haven't been following my threads (I stick mostly to the CG forum), my BF and I have been on the hunt for thr perfect non-diamond e-ring for sometime. We started with blue sapphires, thought maybe padparadschas, maybe even star sapphires... moved onto emerald, but quickly became more interested in other greens like tsavorites and demantoids. Then I saw this tourmaline and fell absolutely in love with it. The ring is totally unique and totally us. Yay!
