Last year I had been wanting to get a citrine cocktail ring but couldn't find one I really liked. One fateful day I went to a gem fair out of curiosity and found the perfect citrine loose stone. I knew I had to take it and then thats how I made my first ring and I am sure it won't be my last project as I want to make a pair of earrings for my sister to celebrate when she finishes her masters degree in biotechnology which is a super hard subject. Already found the stones, a pair of mahenge pink spinels and I will design a paraiba earring for myself :)

this is the plan I have made for my sister's earrings. What do you think for a 25 year old girl? The pink spinel will be adorned by some small diamonds so it looks like a flower. The dangle stone will be detachable and thinking of a glassy jadeite or moon stone with good blue tint. 20200725_124413.jpg

Don’t see citrine very much! Your ring is sooo pretty. I also love wearing some right hand bling while WFH! Is there a reason you picked citrine? I think Kate Middleton got a citrine ring as a push present!

I picked citrine because it is a colour that I can easily match with all of my dresses. I had also thought getting a topaz ring but didn't see anything that I liked. I wanted to wear it for my wedding anniversary and this citrine matched my peach dress perfectly. Still my favourite ring so far. VideoCapture_20200725-151752_mh1595686758396.jpg

Very pretty and a great size. Can't wait to see the earrings when they are done. Very glowy stones.

Either would look amazing! The design you’ve created is beautiful.

I adore your citrine! May I ask its size?

Thanks for everyone's kind words, I really look forward to making her earrings=)2 I plan to go to hong kong at the end of the year to get some nice jadeites with my uncle's help as he knows quite a bit about jadeite stones. I still have time to complete this as she will first graduate next summer.

My trip to Hong Kong is probably cancelled. The infection rate in UK is going up and Hong Kong has not opened their borders for non HK citizens. I will have to opt for moonstones for my sister's earrings. So I am on the look out for pear shape moonstone pair which is hard to come by apparently :confused2:

For now I am focused on another project since I have a couple of loose stones at home :P2. I am thinking of setting these pair of citrines as earrings to match my citrine ring. They will be detachable and will pair it with my antique jadeite earring. What do you think? 20200927_171338_mh1601223339590.jpg

Sorry to read your HK project is on hold.
The citrine drops would be lovely. I really like the color combinations and the proportions!

Thanks Snow White! Yes this was not planned as they were bought separately but that means they were meant to be paired together =)2
