It is a cute little glowy stone from Mozambique and is copper bearing. It was a LT purchase. I wish it would fit in Yvonne's trillion setting but it won't. ETA It was inexpensive and I wanted to see this paraiba glow in person. I migjt not actually set it. Thoughts?

Please share your thoughts on this stone - my feelings won't get hurt. It was under 100 with shipping!

Really unusual stone. It looks very space age to me because of the shape and a very soft ‘moon glow’appearance to my eye . I think one could make something very interesting and cool with it, but you would have to love it to be worth the setting effort. What do you think of it?

It’s highly included. You’re ok with that?

I imagine it would be difficult/costly to set due to the unique shape.

Do you like it enough to set it or are you content to keep it as a nice sample of a stone?

I had a hole drilled into a blue stone once (no idea what it was, might be glass) and turned it into a pendant. You could do that with this stone on one of the corners.

I am ok with it being so included Chrono. I love it for the colour! The inclusions were pretty obvious in the photos! I like your space analogy Blugemz. All the inclusions give off lots of glittery rainbow flecks. I don't know if I love enough to set. Maybe I coupd have it set upside down? I like that look better. I am pretty sure it would not hold up to being drilled Mellow but that would be an inexpensive way to wear it! 20181019_091920_HDR.jpg

If you love it, keep it! Not everything has to be set or you can set it if you want to.

I love it against your fingers, the color pops then! Maybe you could get it wire wrapped to be a pendant without any drilling and wear it on a cord. I feel like it’s meant to be that kind of breezy, beachy pendant.

That is what I was thinking of! Something rougher like this. il_570xN.1701285673_tdva.jpg il_340x270.1506284764_9y8k.jpg

So cool to get a Paraiba! The rustic elegance style ring you're considering is a perfect match for the Paraiba, as the stone is included and a bit of a rustic cut. I love the idea of it in high karat gold. Two cautions: make sure the inclusions do not significantly impact the integrity of the stone; and make sure the stone has enough depth to it so that its not likely to get chipped or damaged in the setting process. If all goes well, you will have a stunning ring made from a great starter stone. =)2

Lovely color; I like the idea of the organic setting. Would also be striking as a pendant.

These ideas are just general thoughts, which clearly would need to be adapted to any specific project.

Ok, In the above example, personally I’m not fond of all the surface decorations, but you could set it in a wide metal background as a pendant. And adjust the shape of metal and how it sits within the metal.

Another airy design to add motion and volume to a single stone. Could be really interesting as a ring, pendant or even bracelet.

Another wider metal base idea... these are just some of many variations in which proportions and relationships could be worked out. If you got another stone, you could do something with different colors...different metal finishes...

Some JAR earrings...that stone would glow in blackened silver with a sprinkling of diamonds, as well as with yellow gold.

A JAR pin in which an opaque texture is paired with translucence and sparkle to show color relationships. You could even make a three tiered pendant if you collected more stones. in the surrounding stones. You could use opaque small stones around the stone as just another idea

Congratulations on the stone! I'd put it in prongs, though, as it looks more glowy when light shines through it. I shall look for organic pronged looks later.

I love the wide metal base idea Blugemz! I definitely want it as a ring so I can see it. Good idea with the prongs Arkteia. I will let you know what happens!

Aww! Thanks Missy! I am going to get it set in the gold bezel style above with two rectangular rubellites as sidestones. I will post pics when it is done!

Your stone is growing on me. It has a lovely pale blue/ pastel blue glow. The colour looks amazing on your skin.

Love your setting idea!!! Who will create your ring?

Lol! Thanks Acinom! That made my day! MaraJoyceDesigns on Etsy. I have a lot of pieces from her! I feel a lot of strength from her jewelry - especially her ancient coin and Roman glass jewelry.

Did she also create the ring in your avatar?
I am so looking forward to see the result
