Well I finally jumped in and did it. I bought an inexpensive strand of FW natural whites 10mm and went at it lol. I don't think it's too bad for a first attempt. I used the double thread method which was tough with these because the holes were so small. #2 silk just barely got through twice. I have an order coming from Wen and I will really get to play.

Thanks I will. It really was pretty easy until the end. You need to try again. I just followed a YouTube video. There just needs to be bigger holes if you are doing the double thread method.

They look great, @Catmom!
I have found that widening the hole on the last two pearls makes a huge difference. I use a Dremel tool with a tiny drill bit to widen the hole......and hopefully not split it in two!

Looks really good, very even, well done!

HI:

PS'ers are a handy group!!! NICE!

cheers--Sharon

Yes I can see why that would be a good idea. It was really hard to get those last ones through.

I hope this is ok to post but I used this video from YouTube. I found it very easy to follow and do:

I adore the clasp! Where did you find it?

Ecvellent job! Get a small hand reamer at a bead shop or online. This works and it goes slowly so you have precision.

my friend (my only non-cat or non work friend in Wanganui) wants to try knotting, she is very excitted to fix her sister's pearls
so technically im on ban island but im going to buy her some Wen pearls to practice on as she doesnt have a necklace of her own
we have never talked about jewlery, except my cherry amber that ended up being bakelite -my friend's mum and dad were from Latvia (they used to get amber off the beach) and came out to NZ as sponsored refugges after the war so we have tons of other things to talk about -
sorry there was no appropreate thread to just chat about this

Excellent job! That looks lovely.
