I love antique rings, gemstones and a good cluster! This is my most recent find: Antique Victorian 4 carat Colombian Emerald ring, with 2.4 carats of old mine cut diamonds in silver over 18k gold. This is my first sizeable emerald, and these pics do not capture the intensity or true color. The inclusions are also showing up more in the pics. The glow is absolutely unreal irl, and it’s the most transparent/glowy emerald I’ve seen. It’s old cut as well. Like some fine quality Columbia’s emeralds, under Uv light it has a soft pinkish/red glow (not intense like a synthetic or a ruby). I need to send it to GIA - suspect minor oil
- but GIA will say for sure! Would love any thoughts from emerald experts. Irl the color is an intense apple green with lots of glow. These pics don’t really show it well. In the macro close up shots, you can see the velvety/drops of oil like effect - I’ve been reading about the rare Gota de Aceite effect in Columbian emeralds - could this be it or am I imagining it? Under a microscope they appear to be tiny hexagonal shapes...

I wish I could get the Emerald to show the true color - it’s about 2 shades darker than the photos and very intense glowy green. 46516F65-B885-43AA-9B84-E270C40969F1.jpeg542772E5-6160-4E3C-9344-9567A72F932A.jpegA023E9B3-2D56-48BC-B719-981AB6A6B0AB.jpegE42A2614-E793-4EC4-92AD-C7261F5C2301.jpegE083C24B-ED25-4D82-9EB1-44B3B10A4306.jpeg699A502F-3525-4020-81D7-DCAF27EE9421.jpeg572C042A-40AD-410D-B1D6-AF6DFE4C080E.jpeg1947AEAD-57B1-46EA-85AB-389D7B913F23.jpegEA04C14A-0FAF-4195-A681-6DDD54D20AF0.jpegBD1FBAF7-7BFE-42EC-BDD5-DE7561D8ECE9.jpeg

Wow! Gorgeous!

Drooling over this one...... :lickout:

Here is another favorite: Antique Georgian Unheated Ceylon Blue Sapphire and old mine cut diamond mega ring. The blue sapphire is certified Unheated and from Ceylon, and holds its color even in low lighting. Silver over 20k gold. 0F0EC682-9DED-48D9-9161-55908F55370B.jpegFA773468-0FB6-4032-85AC-6DBDC57B6D0E.jpegA62D9933-2B52-45C6-B605-7C21A05457A9.jpegAC348FCB-B442-4352-8614-169BF5286990.jpeg024A77A8-6A76-4BF8-93D5-FFB81C5CF8D5.jpeg3D9CAA52-8732-4F1F-AE08-0846DB6B874B.jpegE5335D2F-D3F0-49C1-A503-0FA8A02AFC40.jpegE7D6277D-FA5E-486B-A26E-B8C4ED8A0777.jpeg64C5F354-C70E-4B20-A855-D3886B81C7CB.jpeg17278B26-40FC-4BA7-941E-7312C16F6207.jpeg

Both beautiful!!!

Both your rings are glowy and decadent delights  The workmanship on both has held up wonderfully!! Someone - or maybe several someones - loved them ::)

One question, just my curiosity - which lab determined origin of the sapphire? Did you have to remove the stone from its mount for evaluation?

Thanks for your kind words! It already had the certificate before I bought it, but it’s from GCS in London. They can evaluate the stone while mounted I believe as long as the back is open...

Fantastic!! I would be a wreck contemplating separating that stone from the dress she’s worn for so long!

A deep glowy Muzo emerald is on my #OneDay wishlist. I’m not holding out for true gota de aceite though - I’ll be waiting the rest of my life  My impression is that it’s pretty much impossible to confirm the material growth structure without a microscope, perhaps someone with more expertise can opine?

Here is my most unique and rare piece: AGL certified Unheated sapphire with opalescence. The effect is mesmerizing and colors change with the light. Over 4 carats. I bought the sapphire originally as an antique Edwardian stick pin and then had it I mounted and sent to AGL to confirm what I suspected. Then Enhoerning Jewelry set it into a Georgian inspired rose cut diamond setting.

I've never seen one. It's truly amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Late to the swoon party but I was busy picking up my jaw from the floor. These three halos are all so amazing, so satisfying to gaze upon. The new emerald is absolutely glamorous! I love how substantial and GRAND she is. The OMC diamonds! And the finger coverage! (Swoon) I think my goal to possess a large Victorian halo has been further cemented (and I have a particular gemstone in mind). Would you care to share the ring size? And any further info on her provenance and/or age? She's looking somewhat middle to late Victorian (like 1860s - 1880s) to me, but I'm not super confident dating very fine antiques.

Hope you find out more about the emerald from GIA as well!

Can this trio of yours be any more fabulous ?
Serious swoon

Thanks for your comments! Oh yes I think an antique halo ring is definitely on the must list - even if it takes a while to save up for it. They are worth it. No provenance papers, but you are correct about age - between 1860 and 1880. The shank was replaced at some point in the early 20th century. I always wonder who owned these pieces - was it a royal? If the emerald was already certified it would have jumped quite a bit in price, so I actually like having them certified myself. Large antique gemstones in high quality rings like this one I’ve found are usually fine quality - sapphires Unheated etc - so usually not too concerned about the certs coming back bad. It’s substantial in size - about 26 mm high and 19 mm wide. Hope that helps!

 Holy sh!t, you're giving me palpitations! And then the but wait, there's more!
You are the antique cluster queen!:love:
I am using too many exclamations!
Didn't even mention the ruby/diamond band...tumblr_n61w1vPajJ1rpduwho1_500.gif

You have just a phenomenal collection. Colorful, decadent, well-rounded.

Each time you post on PS, I feel my heart fill with gratitude that you are sharing these beauties with us!!!

Not rings, but here are my antique crescent moons and star on antique chains. Victorian big Star is 4 carats of old mine cuts, Art Deco blue sapphire and old cut big crescent (one sapphire fell out need to replace) and a Victorian ruby small crescent. The Victorians loved the moon and stars ⭐
