#JOTW My convertible diamond pendant-to-bracelet project is done!

I had a bezel set AGS0 diamond for years, and loved it but as time went on it started to feel too plain for me (I am more of punk rock girl at heart). Also, when I wore a different pendant or necklace, it meant leaving that gorgeous stone in the drawer.

So for my recent milestone birthday, I decided to treat myself to a new jewelry project to bring some quirk to my pendant and find a way to wear it even when I'm not wearing it. I bought a 1ct "celebration" cut diamond (zales brand cut) on looptroupe. It's definitely not for everyone, the cut reminds me of concave cuts in colored gems, but I love how different it is and it blazes like crazy in mall lighting as the cut maximized scintillation.

I drew up some sketches on how I wanted to combine it with my bezeled diamond to be a pendant that could also be worn as a charm on my leather bracelets.

The finished piece. It's quite heavy due to all the gold which I like. Feels substantial

The top diamond is .72 ct F AGS0 Lazare diamond. The bottom is a .99 ct G Celebration cut diamond. Both are VS1.

ThanKS. It's definitely much larger than what I was used to. But I live that I can put it on different chains and bracelets and even chokers! I'm tempted to buy a bunch of different colored watch band's to wear with it.

I can also wear it point up or point down! I'm living how flexible having a bar instead of a bail is!

I honestly don't wear bracelets OR necklaces (I typically don't like the feel of them against my skin), but if I could have one rockstar that could do both/either, I might be able to get behind it!! I designed it and had a local jeweler make it. I've worked with her before and while not as technically skilled as David klass etc, I love that she's a local small independent artisan and she's super fun to work with. Not to mention it spares me the anxiety of shipping stones, and the turn around time and prices I get are hard to beat. Yay for shopping small and local.

I thought about getting a diamond bangle but was worried I wouldn't wear it often enough. And this turned out to be a better cost option. Win win

Thanks! Haha yeah I was all about maximizing versatility with the design. It's two tone so I can wear it with a variety of chains and coordinate with other jewelry looks.

I admit I've been mostly wearing it as a bracelet so far because it's easier for me to admire it. I'm sure I'll go back to wearing it mostly as a pendant once it stops being so new to me.
