Just posting my collection of Jade pieces, all of them passed down to me from my parents and have sentimental value.

I don't wear Jade as I had a bad experience and memory with losing the centre marquise Imperial Jade cabochon from a ring with a double diamond halo that my mum treasured and gave to me some years ago during one drunken work related event in mid 90s.

Of the pieces I have, I would probably repurpose the saddle ring by having the top part set into a ring with a Rose Gold bezel setting with a diamond halo. The bottom part perhaps into a bangle or another ring.

The bar pendant belonged to my maternal grandmother who died when my mum was in her early teens, and this was the only item my mum had of hers.

The largest piece I believe was a pendant of some sort, in the colour and translucency that resembles lard as originally described to me. It was made to commemorate the joint wedding of my uncles No. 1 and No. 4 (my dad's side was a big family), with the Chinese characters meaning 'Double Happiness'. It is normally displayed on a stand.

Small pendant - there is another in the group pic as part of a keyring in the bottom left hand corner:

I call this the cabbage pendant as the carving reminds me of a Chinese Leaf cabbage :lol-2:, I wore this when I was younger:

My maternal grandmother's bar pendant:

The saddle ring that I quite like for its colour and transparency, and may repurpose it into more wearable pieces, a ring with the top saddle part, and either another ring or a bangle with the shank if possible:

The 'Double Happiness' ? Pendant, which is normally hanging on a display stand:

All very beautiful, of course - the history and sentimentality behind them making them invaluable pieces.

But.

When I opened that first picture, the loudest thought that came into my mind was

BUNNIES! :kiss2:

Thanks!

My mum thought they were cute and bought them. She bought a bigger snake too and I am a Snake.

My sister is a Rabbit and deep down, I believe my mum missed her in some ways.

After my dad had died, she wrote to my mum a very long letter citing everything that she had done wrong to her back in 2005. She had not heard from her since. I believe that saddened her greatly.

I ex-communicated from my sister in 2002, and she had not spoken to my brother since 1989, and refused to attend my dad's funeral in 2005. She was informed of my mum's death via a family friend and there was not acknowledgement or anything.

I have cut off my brother now after he upset me one last time. Family, hey ho!

I had the same thought - a bunny! Then I saw the long cabbage and thought, “It even comes with food.”
My fav is the saddle ring - so thick and full :kiss2:
The pearl looks big and lustrous, too!

Thanks, and I lost the centre stone of my mum's ring which she bought when I was young and accompanied her to the store when she did it.
