Earlier this year I posted about a high colour 2.1 OEC that I scored from Sincityfinds: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/opinions-setting-this-delicious-2-1-ct-o-p-oec.266159/

I went through so many iterations of what I wanted and finally put together a design for a right hand ring with a local jeweller. It is based on a sketch I made with some of the scallop details and engraving pulled from photos from Alex from parksfinegroup and my jeweller’s portfolio. I had some unworn yellow gold jewelry passed down from my mom and grandma melted down to cast the ring. It was a mix of 14/18/22k gold jewelry and the ring is 14k.

I gave him lots of time to work on this ring (he was swamped with last minute weddings in the summer as restrictions were lifted) and 7 months later, here it is!

The scalloped details on the sides of the shank and gallery of the ring are supposed to go along with the wave-like engraving on the top of the shank.

The faux bezel turned out a bit chunkier than I had intended, I OK’ed the mold but it just looks a bit more in your face when actually cast! I’m used to more dainty rings but wanted this to look obviously less like an engagement ring.

The diamond looks amazingly white against the yellow gold. My jeweller was quite impressed with the cut and quality of the diamond.

It looks amazing, and the setting compliments your stone so well.

Thank you so much, I’m really pleased with how it turned out!

This is beautiful! That's amazing that your diamond looks whiter in the yellow gold! Curious how the warmth shows up? I love the bezel and the beautiful design for your gorgeous diamond. Wear in much love and joy!

Gorgeous, the detailing is beautiful. Congrats.

Thank you! I can really only see the warmth in the stone when I compare it to other whiter stones. I’m thinking it probably would’ve been warmer if I actually had it bezel set?

Here it is compared with a G transitional (bottom) and a colourless OEC moissanite, first pic under bright LED light and second with shaded natural light.8FBE0B22-E537-4F41-8A86-689408698A47.jpeg3E9B9CDF-A886-40F9-B4FF-EB1AEED801DB.jpeg

Haha! To be honest I was hoping it’d get done around Sept but then the wedding rush hit him and he told me he was swamped. Since I wanted it done right I was Ok giving him alll the time he needed and then things got busy and I forgot about my ring for a few months!

It turned out beautifully! Love the setting with that diamond!

 Yah, I love it and it's going to be a setting that lasts. I love a delicate ring, but more and more lately I'm beginning to realize I need more substantial settings for my lifestyle. Your has ring has substance with elegance. And that's a win for me!

That is beautiful, and totally worth the wait! I hope you wear it in good health and endless happiness!

Wow that is amazing.

A perfect marriage of stone & setting :kiss2:

Beautiful!!! It looks whiter due to the yellow gold engraved halo!

Beautiful, detailed setting. Love that you can always look at it an know that the setting is made from gold from your mother and grandmother's jewelry!!! Love the warmth of the stone too!!

My gosh, I just love this. It came out beautiful and I really love the scallop details on the gallery.

This is my first piece of “substantial” jewelry, I love dainty jewelry in general and my wedding set is definitely daintier than this! It’ll take some getting used to for sure, but my jeweller says this ring is so sturdy, I could use it when defending myself and absolutely nothing will happen to it :lol-2:

Thanks! I am so pleased I could make something else of the jewelry. There was a heavy 22k chain that I was not going to wear and that helped cut down costs quite a bit. I also have a couple of stones taken out of the old rings, so I have plans to make them into another piece I’ll wear maybe later this year!

Aww what a beautiful stone and setting. I hope you love it. As someone who used to love white metals, I just love the warmth of yellow gold now. The setting is unique and like others have said it's substantial. Wear it in good health
