There are only five  because your photos are shorting us the other two cabs. Please remedy this immediately!!! =)2

When I get them, I will do a proper repost :)

This was my festive Christmas ring with assorted stones I designed, retweaked (many many times) and sent the stones to my setter 3 months ago.

Except it just got completed and I won't get it in time for Christmas. C'est la vie!

Tourmaline, tsavorites, sapphires and diamonds in yellow and white gold.

Because my setter really does it in dribs and drabs

Here's another just done setting. I've similarly sat on this pink donut for months before deciding on this princess-y design.

Calling @icy_jade

Is this something you are looking for? Measured 57.9 with calipers but is very thick at 12.6mm so can make it slightly bigger.

My seller says if this is what you are keen he can try to negotiate. Trader asking for over s$6k. Can try between S$4.5-5.

Wah!!! Love the water and very very tempted tbh but would like something bluer and brighter? I worry that it will look grayish irl and I don’t want a grayish toned bangle.

But so tempted looking at it (love the water). Hope I don’t regret passing it up. Is this a rare piece based on your experience?

And thanks so much for helping! :kiss2:

OK I will tell him to let it go. He's complaining that the trader is tough on this and if my seller doesn't think it's a couple of thousand rmb below what he can resell in the market, he wouldn't recommend.

I think it has pink lavender within too, which should balance out the grey in bluish lavender in most lights. But we also know blue lavender can be tricky. Can't guarantee but gut feel i don't think this will look grey under most lights.

I think we all have to be prepared for less supply higher prices ahead. I've already noted the scarcity in both cabs, carvings and bangles the last few months :(

Blame covid. No mining. No replaceable supply. China can still spend to buy though.

I have a tonne of donuts and stuff, collected over the years, but unset.

Inspiration struck one day and I ordered these 18k earring chains with slider beads in white and rose gold.

Voila, now I have plenty of new earrings to wear, without having to set them over and over again!

@Burmesedaze , did you get these from your jeweller or online? If online, may I know who the seller is? Thank you in advance.

Hi YC, do you mean the 18k gold chains? They are from my China setter.

Pricey mucho but so pretty.

Oh!! Very nice! Is the price negotiable?
Do you think pic 1 is the color that’s closest to irl? I think usually blues and purples become more intense in pics right?

Tbh, just showing you for reference. This is the first seller I used to get my bangles from and that was a 跨年 special price that is supposedly lower. So no leeway to negotiate further.

I would take the faintest colours, away from light, as reference :)

This amount is scary to buy over the Internet so I won't be doing it. Unless it's something simpler like a white bangle or 白底青 with fewer shade variations.

Also, because they have tonnes of buyers that buy 100,000rmb upward bangles, customer service can be snobbish or shoddy. I.e. inaccurate or insufficient photos in daylight when requested. That's why I changed sellers.

But for top notch stuff, right to real glassy bangles (700,000rmb upwards), this seller and their source has it.

Beautiful dream! I love this. Are you eyeing it? Or is it yours?

This is true glassy Type A jadeite bangle with good lustre, glow, grain structure and high translucency.

They seldom come in large enough sizes for me and even the smaller ones like this already costs a good 6 digit USD :)

So it will have to remain a dream for now.

I learn so much from you and @icy_jade about jade/jadeite. It’s so fascinating and beautiful

Fabulous bangle but $100,000 :eek2::eek2::eek2: I'm not sure we could even afford to put one like this on our bucket list. :mrgreen2:

If that same highest quality bangle was Imperial green in color, would the price be even higher?

Heh that'd only be in auctions :) maybe a few million to double digit?

Thank you! The curly ruyi part on the top end of the donut is actually rose gold, but can't tell from the setter's lighting. They are probably another 2 weeks in the mail before getting to me!

So sorry to hijack your thread but I wondered if you might be able to advise on sourcing a couple of small carved jade pieces.

Its my 12th wedding anniversary coming up and I want to have a Jabot pin made - the antique ones I’ve seen are prohibitively expensive but I have a wonderful jeweller here and though I might have a stab (ha!) at making one instead. But I’ve never bought jade before and it is impossible to get any selection in the Middle East.

I’ve got contacts in Pakistan and Sri Lanka - my usual hunting track in sapphires and the occasional garnet and tourmaline. But my only source in Thailand isn’t coming up with much.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance you might be able to offer.

Hi Ionysis,

Sure, perhaps you could contact me on Loupetroop? Details in the listing description :) Let me know what you have in mind and I could let you know how feasible it is to find?

The bracelet showing all 7 green jadeite cabs, as requested :)

Taken in a variety of lighting indoors, daylight, overcast skies.
