I just wanted to add the photos with the ring on you childs (I assume) hand, and you holding, palm up, your childs hand are very touching and beautiful.

Aww, thank you Treenbean! That's my 4 year old son Benjamin's hand and those are my favorite pics. This sapphire along with another one were gifts from my husband for the birth of our second son, who was actually 1.5 by the time I received the stones ! It would have been sweet to have had a picture with the baby's hand, but I could never put anything so valuable into his pudgy little hand !

My sons initials are engraved inside the shank, "B&N", not for "baby nurse" but "Benjamin and Noah"!

Thank you, akmiss! I wish I could answer this question but I'm not savvy enough to speak gem-speak. The GRS cert describes it as "vivid blue (GRS type "royal blue").

The setting is the same one that FacetFire had her OEC engagement stone set in a few years ago. I did a lot of looking, but couldn't find a setting that I loved as much as this one, so I went for it (thank you FF)! I wanted something simple with a little bit of bling, and this one fit the bill .

Wow. What an elegant and sturdy setting. It really makes that magnificent sapphire pop. I've seen a few things from Pearlman's before but haven't purchased. Now I feel more comfortable buying from them after hearing the feedback.

I can't say enough good about my experience with Pearlman's; I would definitely buy from them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Thanks, Chrono! Yes, part of the reason I chose the setting was to be able to enjoy the stone's profile and to make sure it was open enough that it wouldn't darken the stone. And if it has darkened since it was set, i haven't noticed.

That is a GLORIOUS sapphire. I have a sapphire cut by Richard Homer and I like it but it is darker than I would like a lot of the time. Does yours usually look this color? And it looks great in the setting you've chosen.
