My birthday ring is lost...

I'm back to thank again everybody for all the support. And i need to say that indeed i acknowledge that it wasn't easy for my 12 year old to come forward with telling the truth, especially when she was under the impression that the ring was lost for good... I will definitely reward her for her honesty.
On another note, i need to give a huge credit to my DH too. Because he is the one who had the ring made for me and he was the one who...paid for it. When we thought that it was lost, he didn't get upset but he just helped me search around the house for it and consolated me that it will be found eventually...I admit that i would have been upset if i was in his place!

I'm glad your daughter was able to tell you what happened, and that you were able to recover your ring!

Wonderful news! And I'm very impressed by your daughter and DH. You're a lucky lady with a great family!

That is GREAT news, Naty! :appl: What a valuable lesson for your daughter!!! They have to learn to trust us enough that they can tell us anything! (Now find a safer place to put your jewelry when you take it off! )

What a great story, and so glad your ring was found. Even better was using this as a teachable moment for your daughter. Now she understands about sinks, rings, J-traps, truth, honesty, love, and how you treat others with respect. Difficult as these episodes are, you need times like these in life as practice for the really difficult times.

Great news!

I'm happy for you...and relieved. Diamond rings don't grow on trees!

One thought: resist the urge to 'reward' your daughter. Praise her once or twice. Hug her and tell her how proud you are she 'fessed up and then let the whole thing go. Move on.

Life doesn't always reward us when we do the right thing. Usually it doesn't at all. Doing the right thing was reward enough.

Just my humble opinion.

Yeah!

Naty...sorry to hear this, but the good news is that the ring is still somewhere inside your house.i'm sure sooner or later you'll find it.

I hope so.

Never, ever leave jewellery around a sink. Sooner or later, you will lose something down the drain!
I love happy endings! My stomach was in knots while reading your story, whew!! I'm relieved that you found your ring afterall.

I've always been sensitive to the fear of either laying them down somewhere (& not being able to find them). Or having them accidentally go down the drain.

So I've set up little jewelry boxes in every room of the house so if I need to take my jewelry off, I have a box nearby to put them in until I put them on again. Just an idea I use to curtail my habit of laying my rings around.

Oh thank goodness it was found! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Yahoo! Glad you found it! I reiterate again the point about not leaving your rings near any sinks!

Yay, for a wonderful daughter, hubby and overall happy ending! :appl: :appl:

Whew, so glad the mystery was solved and you have your beautiful ring back! :appl:

Glad you found it.
