My wonderful husband and I celebrate our almost 10 years together and 7 years of marriage. We have lived in several different countries together, have three wonderful pets, and added our baby to the pack.
The lovely husband of mine offered an anniversary ring of my choice. At first I was looking for a larger round brilliant to my original e-ring, also in consideration was an August Vintage Round but ended up with an AV Cushion. I worked with David, Jonathan's son, who was a dream to work with. I cannot thank Good Old Gold enough for not only a gorgeous stone, but the overall buying experience. I also need to thank Pricescope and its members for the knowledge I have gained in the process.
I fell head over heels with Asscher Girl's Christian Barier design and wanted something similar. I very nearly purchased the pink sapphire version at 1stdibs and was equally tempted by the blue sapphire version at 66mint in July. I reached out to the designer but found difficulty going this route...
I discovered Steven Kirsch through Pricescope and I am SO THANKFUL to Pricescope and its members for the many threads and feedback of this wonderfully talented designer.
In my ring search, I learned a bit about myself... Well let's say it reaffirmed something about me, I am finicky. I found that I cannot be completely happy with one stone or one setting. I will eventually tire of the ring and will pine for another. So why choose at all, I asked myself? It made me crazy.
At the beginning of my search, knowing this about myself I thought a simple solitaire would be best and once I am absolutely certain I would choose the right setting. Then that epiphany... I'll choose to love and choose to be satisfied with my choices... the thing about happiness/ satisfaction coming from within applies to the idealist in me. That's not to say I lowered my standards but I drew the line where it started to drive me crazy, if that makes sense. This is a deeper post than I intended it to be but I enjoy reading other people's journey to 'the ring.' So there it is, the condensed version.
