With a mom like this no wonder the kid's screwed up.

Sorry but I disagree. She hasn't demeaned her daughter. She has pointed out the behavior that was wrong and why she is being punished. If she were calling her fat, ugly, stupid that is one thing. Her daughter is apparently a young teen and lied about where she was staying, along with a group of other girls, so they could hang out with older people. I'm of the group that believe that lack of punishment is part of what's wrong with today's youth. Kudos to her for making her child face consequences of her actions. Her addressing her daughter is in response to her daughter thinking that the punishment is a joke. It is no joke when you lie to your parents, and go somewhere that they are not aware of. If something had happened to said kid, how would her parents have known who to call, where to go, what to do?

I have no children, and The Demon and Oscar have never had their concert--or doggy park--tickets revoked due to bad behavior, but if anyone's interested in my opinion (and I fully respect if you are not!), aside from the bitchy/trollop parts, I applaud this mother.

Hmmmm.....
Have a great day;

LOL Demon and Oscar have the world's best mommy Dee Jay and they know when they have a good thing going.
I agree that it would have been better if she didn't use that kind of language as she isn't setting the best example with those words. At least she isn't raising her kids to think the world revolves around them and only them.

Interesting convo! Personally, I think the mum chose to use those words to bring in the idea of reputation...that people from outside her daughter's friendship circle will be judging her daughter's behaviour, and that some people might easily say that her daughter behaved like a 'trollop'. And I've seen young girls, they really are 'bitchy'...

I could not figure out where you saw the word "trollop" until I found the link and realized there was a second paragraph. In addition to her language, I did not care for the way she was basically referring to her daughter's friends as _______ become some did not have fathers. Starting to like this mother less and less. Her intentions might have been good, but her delivery was not, imo.
