I love this setting. I had something very similar in my last marriage. I had tanzanite on the sides though. It was not nearly as stunning as yours though.

I think the yellow gold hurt me... but one more time... when you said the setting will be more delicate I think it''s a good thing.

I know there are a lot of people in the ''I love the old setting bandwagon'' and that ''you are crazy to change the setting''... But the matter of the fact is, I am not loving it. I don''t want my diamond sitting in a gold cup for the rest of my life, since it is a real problem to get this clean on a daily basis.
But I understand to each its own... For me, I am excited to see my pear without any enhancements, to be enjoyed for what she is.

It''s probably cause I can''t read the CADS correctly Ames! It''s not usual for me to see this type of 3D design. The prongs will be yellow gold? Can''t wait to see the final result. Don''t be worry with my opinion Dear... you know me! I''m always full with contradictions.

Thank you all so so much for the positive comments on the new CADS!!
Michael has sent the CAD to be cast, and should be getting the setting by later next week. Once in hand, my ring is off too him for her makeover!
It''s going to be a looooooong time when she leaves until her return !

But I think it will be all worth it! YAY!

Oh yeah! I forgot to say, the trillions are about 1.25TCW. About 6.81mm each. Michael said that anything bigger wouldn''t have worked that great, cause the trilion "setting" needed to fit nicely between the 2 yellow prong sides of the pear. He mentionned that .62CT each side was a really nice ratio. I think so too!

Yes, it is all good sweetie... Sometimes, it is hard to visualize something on paper into the "real". The colors on the CAD are really intense. The yellow gold will be more buttery yellow since it will be 18KT, and my pear will be more "white" since she will not be in her yellow casing any longer. I think all of the color of the stones and the colors of the metals will all blend into each other nicely...
All of the prongs surrounding the pear will be in yellow gold and the prongs surrounding the trillions will be in 18KT white gold.
